As one of the first to purchase a new 4110 model I had high expectations,I also purchased a reconditioned model for my sister. For the cost benefit the reconditioned price is the better buy. I have had to have my new one re-programmed and it still has erratic sweeping patterns. [...]. The company needs a reconditioning/tune up serve at certain time intervals. I gave my new Scuba to my sister who has small tiles on the floor, it works great there. I have large tiles with 1/8 inch grout and the water accululates in the seams. The Scuba is better designed for the seamless floor. It is a novalty item-I went back to my Hoover and a mop for the real cleaning.
I love my Roomba because it helps control the pet hair in my home! We have a bunny and a cat and they shed quite a bit but the Roomba keeps the majority of hair picked up. There is still hair in the corners of the room and under the couch so I still need to use a broom but Roomba is a big help because my time is limited. We do have problems getting the Roomba to line up properly on the charging base. Often times, we have to get down on the floor and wiggle it around and manipulate it before it starts charging. Still, i would recommend it to everyone!
I can't stop thinking about all the "PROS" on this item. Each time I use it, the list gets bigger! The only thing I don't like is that the remote is infrared. My bot has a tendency to go under the bed and get stuck. I use my remote to get the bot out from under the bed but I have to have visual contact to get teh signal to the bot. All in all, it has been the best thing for the apartment. I use it daily and each time the filter is completely full!
