Sadly,I killed my old Roomba Red with a long string of loose carpet which wrapped itself around the brush and permanently disabled the brush. I bought a remanufactured Roomba, which surprisingly turned out to be an upgrade of my original. Having pets,I use my Roomba everyday. On occasion I touch up the hard to reach places with a regular vacuum. Since I've been using IRobot's (3 years) my house is cleaner then its ever been. My Roomba Red still does service charging the batteries, which I swap between machines. For me its an inexpensive solution to keep my house clean. I would highly recommend Remanufactured if the specs meet your needs and the price meets your budget.
