The roomba is great. The batteries are expensive and will need to be replaced a couple of times a year. Don't ever leave your roomba in storage or unused for any length of time. The battery will be totally ruined if you do.
My parents bought "Link" as a house warming gift. Kinda thought that they where crazy, but gave him a try. My daughter loves watching it clean. I love it as I'm a single mom and he gives me more time to do more important things then clean the floors all the time. The dog doesn't seem to care when he's cleaning, she just moves out of the way. I also have a lot of company come over and they always ask about him and think that he is great. I recommend him quite highly and have been thinking about getting another for the upstairs. I can't believe that I had time before to do some much cleaning, just glad someone out there thought of us that never have enough time.
The only downside is that he does sometimes get stuck on the heater vents and under the table, but my daughter loves to "help him out". That and he can be loud on hard wood floors, so I just have him work when we are not home.

I love Rosie-- she has been a household member for a year and a half now and I couldn't do without her. My house is so much cleaner and the floors are fun to walk on barefoot again. Having a shedding maniac for a dog and four young kids it's GREAT. I have convinced several other people I know to get one.
Love "the Bug" which I received as a gift Dec. 2006. It cleans pet hair like crazy. Fun to watch..trying to figure out where it will go next. Like the 7-cleaning scheduler. Hate when he gets lost (tangled up or just tired) and cries until rescued! Always happy when he finds his own way home to his "mother" (the charger), which is often, but not always. Wish he had a long arm to reach under the furniture he won't fit under. And anxiously await creation of a flying, dusting robot to work with him.
Robo-Boy took a header down the stairs today. I watched it cartwheel all the way down with parts flying off as it went. The finale was hitting a very hard ceramic tile floor. I thought for sure that Robo-Boy was a goner. Amazingly, after putting him back together, he continued to clean without a glitch. No broken plastic pieces as well. Very impressive. Not sure why he decided to ignore the edge this time (maybe the sensors were dirty) but I think I'll use the virtual wall just to be sure.
Oh- my parents thought I was nuts when I asked for this for Christmas. Had now idea what it was. Then they came over and watched my little guy strut his stuff. Now they own one, my granparents own one, and my sister owns one! I reccomend one to any busy person- and frankly who isn't!!!! I love him. Once and a while he gets stuck on my throw rugs but hey- who's perfect. I just wish they could make one that did stairs- I HATE dragging out the vaccum now to get the car fur off the stairs. Oh and does it do a great job on cat litterr what! My cats don't even mind it (unlike the "real" vacuum). Can't wait until I can afford the rest of the Roomoba products!
Spend the extra money and get the Roomba Scheduler. It is worth every penny!! You program it to come on at a certain time each day (it can be a different time each day) and you come home to spotless floors! I have multiple cats and you won't find a speck of cat hair on my floors after the Scheduler does it's job. I have it programmed to come on two hours before I get home from work so I come home to clean floors daily.
I live in New Orleans and lost almost everything inside my house from flooding. What was the very first thing on my list to replace? My Scheduler! I can't live without it. I also purchased the Scooba and it does an excellent job of cleaning my kitchen and hardwood floors.
This has to be one of the coolest things we have ever bought. Though Bob is in for service after a hard year of operation, we look forward to his return or replacement. Be careful as the Roomba may back up and down and some stairs in confined areas.
Two weeks after I "hired" it, I wanted to give it a raise. Being able to program it to work while I'm at work means there is no noise. The perfect gift for a bachelor/bachelorette or for that elderly loved one who has a hard time getting around. Heck, "gift" yourself, your worth it.
Well I'm not even sure were to start but by saying this is the best vacuum ever. I did a lot of research on the site as well as many others to make sure i bought something worth the money. After about 3 weeks of just looking around i finally bought the roomba scheduler, and it is probably the best thing i bought in years.
I live in a very busy household, were kids, mom, father, uncle, girlfriend come in and out several times a day. I use to kill myself with my other vacuum cleaner, mainly because i had to bend down to get the dirt off the floor with the stupid hose. Now, i simply turn the roomba on let it clean, then with my wet swiffer i got, just clean the hard wood and its all fresh. I run the roomba once a day about mid afternoon. And everyone in the house loves it as well because no one has to life a finger for the vacuum again.
Things i did notice are lot of people say its loud. Yes, I agree but compare it to a regular vacuum its cake. I can sit down and watch T.V. while the roomba moves around. The battery life is good, lasting about almost 1h 30m. but a little more would be better. Also the cargo bin is somewhat small. The cleaning process is not as bad either. Since the cargo bin is so small, not a big mess to empty at all. I usually take apart the roobma and give it a good cleaning once or twice a week, depends on traffic in the house.
I cant say but good things, and would like to see what they come out with in the future. Hopefully something that cuts my lawn.
I LOVE this machine when it is working properly! It works really well and saves me a ton of time. The downfall, it breaks down a lot. I own 2 of the iRobot Schedulers and 2 of the Scoobas (floor mopping machines). The Schedulers I have owned for 6 months now and I am on my second set of them. They just quit working after awhile. Either the battery won't take a charge or it just spins in a tight circle and won't go clean anywhere else. Thank goodness for their warranty! The scoobas are awesome! I use them daily as well and I haven't had any problems with those. I would buy all of them again in a heart beat because they do save you so much time but I highly recommend buying them from a store that offers an extended warranty!
Before i got the roomba scheduler i had looked at all the other vacuums and robot vacuums but found all of them to have huge design flaws for instance the QQ2 cleanmate had a UV light to disinfect but the problem with this is it fades carpet. and the manual vacuum from dyson was just a big joke. you can easily tell a real engineer wasnt behind it because of its complex shape and humerous claims. besides that the roomba costed less than half that of the dyson(at least from costco) and did the job for me anyways.i was just very skeptic of the roomba because of its lack of sophisticated sensors.after purchasing the roomba i was surprised at how simple it was it had only a few IR sensors 4 for stairs,1 for wall following,1 for recieving IR signals(like from the home base or remote)and a bumper which could only detect left right and straight ahead contact. but i did already notice some good design markers it was very simple no useless suction cyclones or flashing lights. it only had two brushes having the rubber one in the front so it could help the robot move forward faster and a counter rotating bristle since the bristle had less friction and a rubber vacuum flap to catch the left overs and suck em up. i was also impressed with its battery efficency cleaning for up to 2 hours and charging in 3. unlike my sons rc car which goes for 15 minutes and charges in 4. after it was done doing its initial charge i let it go and was surprised how well it covered the entire first story of my house. its side brush did and excellent job of flicking junk from under my fridge and other hard to reach areas and was a great feature that other robot vacuums did not include. its pattern seemed fairly logical always following edges and then crossing in a more effective pattern than i could have expected from such a simple robot. Its only flaw is that you must remove obstacles like socks and cords because it once sucked up a sock if it wasnt for its brush cage it would have probably ended up in the dust bin and some cordes it can detangle itself from but i still suggest suspending them in case it pulled a lamp off. after just one cleaning cycle it was full to the brim and i ran it 8 times in a row and it still filled up every time which realy makes me kindof disgusted at how dirty my floors are. its only issue is having to clean the brushes because those hairs can be tangled pretty badly but after the first few cleanings hair was mush less common but ill probably get that pet hair brush replenish kit anyways. i do have a pet but a toy poodle doesnt shed mush at all in fact i havnt seen any pet dander on my floors ever. it was great to have such a low clearance on the robot so i could put its self charger under my tv cabinet so that while its charging theres no chance of one of my kids accidently stepping on it. my sons freind was so impressed with it that he spent his own money to get one the same day and him and his parents love it and i find it quite surprising considering he had been saving his money for so long. im absolotely happy with my purchase and am planning on getting a scooba too and hope that irobot can soon make a robotic lawnmower thats just as effective, affordable, and reliable as this vaccum.
This Roomba is great. I even used it in my pop-up camper!
I love my Roomba. When we bought our new home we decided to put hard floors throughout except for in the bedrooms because of our pets. I was a little concerned about all the sweeping I was going to have to do. I knew my back wasn't going to do well with that at all. So right away I invested in my little cleaning fried and couldn't be happier that I did. It saves me from having to sweep and Roomba will clean any time I want it to and all I have to do is push a couple of buttons and Roombas off sweeping my floors so I wont have to. Soooo Convient! And such a time saver! I have noticed though that it seems to use more battery time and doesn't run as long on carpets. It vaccumes them but drains the batterie quicker. So we just run Roomba on our hard floors and are so pleased of the job Roomba does on them. I bought the Scooba because of how much I love my Roomba but I haven't been as impressed with it. It requires much more attention and doesn't seem to do quite as well washing my floors as the Roomba does vaccuming them. All I can say is I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE MY ROOMBA!!!!!!! I Strongly recommend the Roomba if you have hard floors as I do, it is simply WONDERFUL and does a BEAUTIFUL job!
After a day of so watching this you find yourself wanting more of these types of products. I cant wait for the one that cuts the yard. I own The scooba, roomba, and the dirt dog and I just cant wait for more. Its almost frustrating because I dont want to go to any other company for the robot lawn mower but the anticipation of more products is un bearable
Prior to starting the Roomba ?Scheduler?, I THOROUGHLY vacuumed the carpet and hardwood floor. (About 150 square feet total) Much to my surprise, the Roomba ?Scheduler? picked up a bag FULL of my cat?s fur and carpet nap (the house is only 1 year old) in the area that REPEATED vacuuming had MISSED!NOTE: Be Prepared to CLEAN the brushes and CLEAN filter and CLEAN bin after EACH USE!!!!! I found that using my canister vacuum allowed me to easily clean the bin, filter, and brushes (once I used the cutter to release the cat fur and carpet nap and a pair of tweezers to unwind the nap and fur from the brush shafts) as well as suck out the loose fibers from inside the Roomba via the various openings in the unit. (CAUTION, don?t suck the brush bearings off the free end of each brush and make sure you put the guards back on the main brush prior to re-assembly) I also used a can of 'Dust Off' [...] to blow out nap, dust and cat fur from deep inside the unit, the 'Wall Sensor' (on the port side of the front contact sensor) the front caster sensor, the vacuum impeller and battery/fan contacts also. With newer carpet, the nap is a major issue. I had to cut the nap and cat fur off the rollers after EACH use! It is worth the effort, however, knowing that the carpet and hardwood floors are being THOROUGHLY CLEANED!ISSUES:1-VERY POORLY written ?Owners Manual?. Doesn?t go into NECESSARY detail about cleaning the Roomba, what the ?Status Light? indicates, warnings about new carpet, etc????..! (Written manuals for equipment operations for many years. The Roomba manual could be written MUCH better, anticipating questions and forestalling calls to customer service)2-NO clear indications (web site, store displays, box, Owners Manual) about the limitations based on Room Size, number of objects the Roomba must navigate around and complexity (layout) of the room to be cleaned!3-Lacking a CLEAR definition about battery maintenance and life!4-Resetting the ?Home Base? for deep charging.Overall, these issues are minor. The Roomba ?Scheduler? is a VERY WELL BUILD machine, capable, thorough and a great adjunct to anyone?s home cleaning requirements. I have used the ?Scheduling? capability and found it easy and IT WORKS!On the other hand, my cat is not very trusting though, she runs up the stairs and watches it clean from the balcony. Once it has ?Docked?, she walks down the stairs, carefully creeps up and inspects it. A funny site!
awesome

My husband and I have a large house with tile over the entire downstairs area. We have a toddler (messy), two small dogs (also messy), and a cat (very messy with his litter box). This Roomba has given us SO much more free time with our son. It's definitely loud, but WELL worth the money. It gets hairballs, small food, litter, etc. The only cons are that it's pretty loud (more with our vaulted ceilings), and it doesn't catch all the corners.
Love my new vacuum friend! He goes everywhere cleaning up after the dog and kids! My kids like setting it "free" in their rooms! Imagine that, kids cleaning their own rooms! We're thinking of name for the newest addition to the family.
I bought one for my brother for Christmas and I got so envious, I had "Santa" buy ME one as well! My dogs hate getting up when it goes by, but they are used to it now, and I love to vacuum! Imagine THAT! I finally clean house!
I love it!!! I purchased the Roomba because we were building a 4,000 sq ft house that is 90 percent tile. I use it every day and is sure beat lugging a vacuum all over the place. Thanks for a great product and keep up the great work.
I have a wonderful dog, but she is long haired and sheds constantly. I was getting tired of picking up clumps of dog hair every day. Enter my new Roomba Scheduler. My floors have never been so consistently clean, and the dog hair problem is gone. It gets into small corners and hard to maneuver spots. I was quite impressed. The dog was a bit surprised by it for the first few days, but now she has gotten used to it.
I originally purchased my Roomba Scheduler when I was living in a New Orleans hotel. Staffing at the hotel was limited after Katrina and my room needed daily vacuuming. It was great to come back to my room every day and find my carpets nice and clean. Then when I returned home in Texas I found how great my Roomba is for cleaning pet hair. I love the Roomba Scheduler!!!
Our Roomba Scheduler is fantastic. We have named her "Rosie" after the robot maid in the Jetsons. She does a terrific job getting up the "tons" of bulldog hair in our carpets. A few years ago we bought (for several hundred dollars more than Rosie) a popular upright vaccuum with a 21 year warranty provided we take it in for service annually. The only time it's been out of the closet since Rosie showed up is to take it in for her annual checkup. I don't think that is going to change. It (NOT ROSIE!) is for sale, anyone interested?
I bought this for my parents. My mother became handicaped and my father needed help with cleaning. It keeps the whole house clean and runs at 8:00 pm every day. It also keeps the dust down, making the house look well taken care of even when it's not.
I love my iRobot Roomba Scheduler. I visited some friends a few weeks ago and they had an older model running about - they highly recommended it. So I mentioned it to my husband and he ordered me one before I was able to get home. I was expecting it to do an OK job but it does a GREAT job. I love the Scheduler and the Virtual Walls. I even pulled everything out from under our bed to let it work and was amazed at how well it picks up and how much it picks up! I recommend this product to anyone, especially those who have pets. It does a great job on the pet hair, the dust and the everyday dirt. I use it everyday and my carpets look cleaner than they have in a long time. I feel so much relief that my housecleaning chores will now take less time. I might even be able to enjoy more of my hard earned weekends now.
I had been thinking about purchasing this product for some time now so I finally did. I was concerned about how well it would work with pet hair. I was quite amazed at how well it picks up almost anything. The first 2 times I used the Roomba it filled the bin completely. This was amazing as I had just vacuumed thoroughly and mopped as well prior to using Roomba for the first time. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. My only concern after first scheduling the Roomba was the fact that it got stuck up on table legs and shut off. I realize though that with some simple modifications to my layout to help accompany the Roomba it is well worth the initial setup as this machine is absolutely amazing. Try it out at first for a few cycles and watch what it might get stuck on. Then do a simple modification to your furniture and/or layout so that this machine does what it does best: pick up all hair, dirt, grit, and crumbs. I highly recommended - I may never use my upright vacuum again.
We were not convinced that it would work before we tried it! We thought it was a toy. But we have a dog that sheds like crazy, and the first cleaning cycle, we were amazed at the stuff in the bin (sometimes I drop some rice or pepper "accidentally" to watch the dirt detect work). Now we might let the dog into the rest of the house after seeing how much stuff the Roomba got out of the carpet that we couldn't even see! WE LOVE ROOMBA!~~~~~~~~~P.S. we cant wait for the light to turn green so we can sart another mission.
It's fantastic. I own two, and as a pet owner, this is the best thing to pick up cat and dog hair. The only thing is that I found it a little bit difficult to remove the cat hair from the brushes when cleaning.
I vacuumed with my old vacuum just 3 days before the first time I used Roomba, and I was VERY surprised at the amount that Roomba picked up. It made me think that I should have been vacuuming daily all this time. I'm buying a second Roomba today for my grandmother, as it is hard for her to vacuum. I love Roomba (notice that I say Roomba instead of "the Roomba"? I really think of it as a family member).~~~~~~
Unbelievable!!! I was a little skeptical at first but was blown away. I use it almost every day and my floors have never been cleaner. I was impressed how well the unit did on all floor types, carpet, hardwood and tile. I have no problem recommending Roomba to everyone.
I love my Roomba! I am amazed at what it picks up after two hours of vacuuming. Though expensive, it's worth every penny. I recently purchased a Dirt Devil for basic cleaning and to vacuum the cat hair from my furniture. It is so noisy, I can barely stand to operate it without ear plugs. Though it does a great job of removing the cat hair from my furniture, it has nothing on the Roomba when it comes to my Mexican tile and carpets. Actually, I was amazed at the amount of dirt my little Roomba picked up after vacuuming a couple of days before with my Dirt Devil. My little Roomba is my new best friend and my cats even continue napping when it passes by. Thanks iRobot!
I wanted this the moment I saw it on TV. I knew I would like it (how could one not?) but it wasn?t as good as I thought it would be?IT WAS SO MUCH BETTER! I was amazed [by] the amount of ?stuff? that was in the bin after 2 hours of cleaning both my carpeted living room and my tiled kitchen. This is a wonderful product that delivers exactly what it says it does. After 1 hour of scrubbing and drying my kitchen tiles, I am seriously thinking about saving up for a Scooba.
Love it ? I have it working every day. Now my dark carpet always looks clean. Have to go around the baseboards and corners every once in a while with a vacuum that has the hand tools, but would have to do the same with a regular vacuum as well.
After installing hardwood floors, I decided it was time for a Roomba. With 2 dogs and a lot of dog hair I was tired of sweeping all the time. The Roomba picks it all up. The Scheduler is great. Set it to clean in the middle of the night and each morning the floor is clean ? no dog hair. This is a huge time saver. It even gets under the kitchen table and CHAIRS. Very smart.
This robot is incredible and actually maintains my floor cleaner than ever. Roomba has become my wife?s best friend and it has become a part of our family? iRobot thanks for such an innovative and efficient design? I liked it so much I have ordered the Scooba.
I have had my iRobot [Roomba] for about 1 week. It is amazing. Does it pick up every particle of dirt? No, but what vacuum does. It does a fantastic job, the area it covers on one charge is amazing. I am thinking of putting googlie eyes on it and giving it a name. It works harder than most other members of my family. I can not wait to get the Scooba!
I received one for Christmas and it is the best thing I have ever had. It?s amazing, even upstairs in the bedrooms ? under the beds. Roomba gets it all! I would take 3 more.
I saved a good sum of money to afford the iRobot Scheduler for my mother as a gift for paying my college tuition. The Roomba was delivered in a well-packaged case. The instruction manual is short, easy to understand, and straight to the point. It really does clean the floors! It does so very well might I add. Upon emptying the bagless bin, you can see all the dirt it picks up. I find this product to be worth the money. I'm a real user. And I must say, the results are also very real.
I think it is the coolest thing ever. I want to get another one for my basement.
Great!
