I bought my Roomba for fun, more of a toy than anything else. It looked too small to be effective as a vacuum cleaner, but I wanted one just to play with. Boy, was I wrong. This thing does a better job than any vacuum I've ever had. My house is vacuumed every day, and my floors are cleaner than they've ever been. I have told everyone I know how great the Roomba works, and so far three of my friends have purchased Roombas for themselves. This is a fantastic product. I bought another one for upstairs too. Watch my video to see my two Roombas in action! I am careful to keep my Roomba clean. If you want the best from your Roomba, buy a small air compressor so you can blow all the dust and dirt out from inside the unit.

It just works well. What you see in the online demos is what you get. Its fun to watch the first time, now I start it when we leave the house and come home to clean floors. I have enough demands on my time without having to do household drudge work.I love the Roomba.

Roomba says good morning while I'm eating breakfast and takes off to clean any pet debris (hair, litter). Roomba Discovery picks up pet hair that the broom only moved around the room.It finds its way into every corner and around every pice of furniture.I have long hair that tends to get wrapped around the brushes, but other than that, Roomba is fabulous at helping me keep the house in order.

I absolutely love my roomba, I've had him for 2 1/2 years(a gift from my mom)He has always done a great job.I think he might need a new battery because he seems to be losing power after about 20 minutes when he used to go about 45. [$]

[...] Did some homework and it everything pointed to a good product. Got it today - have cleaned two rooms in about 45min. Absolutely amazing, does better than my old vacuum. Picked up a LOT. Much smaller and quieter than I expected too! All the while im doing something else, come back - BAM! spotless room. love it love it.
Bought this a couple of months ago, enjoy it immensley about to get the upgrade kit for pets. We have 5 dogs and live on an acreage, lots of tile in our house, works well, picks up the hair and dirt well, use it daily, makes the once a week housecleaning a breeze.
I love them so much that I can't be without them. We have two. One on each floor of our house. It's refreshing to come home to a clean floor after I have been at work all day. My dog loves them, too. He keeps trying to give them his toys.

Living with two Golden Retrievers means living with "hair tumbleweeds," or so I thought until I bought Roomba. Since "hiring" a robot do do the cleaning, I've eliminated a good 90% of the dog hair in the house.
I bought Roomba more than a year ago and used it very little. I simply couldn't be bothered. When iRobot came out with scheduling models, I got the scheduling virtual walls and ran the software update. Now, Roomba goes out every night while I am asleep and cleans up the house! How lazy is that? How great is that!
Contrary to some of the reviews I've read here, it really doesn't need supervision. Rarely, it gets stuck and I return it to its base in the morning. It does make a bit of noise, but what vacuum doesn't?
I was so impressed, I got the Scooba too.
I received my iRobot as a gift from my mother, who knows how much I hate cleaning. I was excited to receive this gift, but very skeptical at first. I am a "low-tech" person who enjoys simplicity, and the idea of using a robot to vacuum seemed anything but simple. However, after my first two uses, I was converted. The iRobot did a superb job of cleaning my large hardwood floor kitchen, and very large carpeted living room/dining room. I was truly surprised at what a thorough cleaning job it did. Plus, it was very easy to use. I'm very much looking forward to setting it loose in the remaining areas of my house. After seeing what the Roomba can do, I may consider buying a Scooba. I'm a "robot lover" now.

This is the second Roomba that I've owned! The first was the original and it is still going at my daughter's house! Of course Pearl outshines the original Old Grey Lady and I Love Her almost as much as my children and husban! I also have Scooba, but not as attached! My cat gives it a kick every now and then when it starts sucking up attached tail fur. (One Stubborn Cat). I think it still needs better suction, more like a vacuum and not a sweeper. But it does do the job on hard floors and dust bunnies on carpet under the Bed!
NUTHIN BETTER THAN COMING HOME FROM WORK AND HAVING YOUR FLOOR CLEAN.
Well, I bought a roomba discovery, actually I bought three! I loved the first one so much I had to buy more. Ok, Now that I have had them for over a month I have to say what a timesaver! We all still have to vac the stairs and the corners of our home but thats ok.
on the down side, it has to be cleaned all the time and it can get stuck. My only worry is because it is so new it may not last that long (prove me wrong please)
I also ordered a Dirt Dog and am thinking of the Scooba in the near future.
Great Job Irobot, I will be considering your products in the future to come.

I absolutely love my Irobot. My husband bought it for me because I am a clean freak. I thought he was crazy until it went under the furniture in places I couldn't possibly vaccuum. It even goes under the bed and furniture I can't move. It also cleans better than I could because it moves so efficiently. Every once in a while it looses it's charge so you have to make sure after vaccuuming it docks properly. Other than that, it is great. My mom was a cleanfreak so we named it after her, Agnes.

When it runs, it works great. But I had to replace my first one after the warrenty so I got the 99 special. This one stopped working after a year. So now I have to buy yet another one. Poor warrenty and durability.
Don't want to take the risk again.

I studied on what vacuum to get for a long time & decided on this one. Great appliance, cleans better then my upright & gets everywhere. Battery lasts long & home base is a cool gadget. I spend most of my time watching it. Needs supervision near rugs & watch out for wires (grabs them). I also have pets & it grabs pet hair/dust perfectly. A few times cleaning it has been a hassle but overall a great product.

Hopefully we are doing something wrong as I leave iRobot Discovery plugged in and charging all night and the charge last less than 5 minutes.Looks like a bad battery but [...].
I own iRobert, for the house, the red one in the my shop, and the yellow one for hobby shop.. and got my friend one for her dogs..

Once U use this your hooked, makes your vaccumming life a thing of the past. My home is all tile and barefoot is the way of life here, friends and neighbors are always impressed how sand free my home is. I live in Florida so it is always there. I am now test driving a Scooba, So far I like it, but it's more hands on that my Roomba. I definitely would encourage anyone to test drive either one, you will be impressed.
I saw the Roomba [...] and wanted to buy one. My wife said it was too expensive and that it wouldn't be able to get along the edges at the baseboards. [...] I bought it because the the 30-day guarantee, and agreed that if it didn't clean well enough that I would bring it back. Needless to say, she was incredibly impressed on how well it cleaned, how well it got along the edges, and especially everything it got off the carpet i nthe baby's room after we vaccuumed not long ago with a "manual" vaccuum.If you live in a home that has linoleum tiles, and they aren't set straight and have a gap in them, the Roomba will become fixated on it thinking the black gap is dirt. Other than that this thing is perfect. I bought the Scheduler Remote for it and cannot wait for it to arrive so little Roomba can clean while everyone is gone. I am determined to get another one for the upstairs someday soon! A+
This is the best purchase I have ever made in a vaccuum cleaner. I would love to eventually be able to afford another one someday, perhaps the one that washes floors.

This was a Christmas gift, I would never normally want a vacume for a gift, however, this was the best gift I have ever gotten! It has made my daily cleaning so much easier! I would buy one for all my friends if I could afford it!

I should of bought one of these years ago. It does a incredible job much better than my existing vacuum. I do wish the battery pack would last a little longer as I have a big house with large rooms.

After tiring of cleaning pet hair constantly (we have 3 dogs) I read the reviews about the Roomba and I was sold. I love it so much I bought the Scooba too, perfect for the ceramic tiles!

Why "husband saver?" Since I've retired, my wife figures I have more time to do household chores. With only two or three charges the Roomba vaccums some 2450 sq.ft. of hardwood floors (with a couple of area rugs) and linoleum floors while I am doing other stuff - like reading, email, or farm work. We have a couple of indoor cats and the Roomba does a great job of picking up hair along with the other daily debris of life. The bin is easy to dump, and the filter can be cleaned and reused more often than the recommended 3 uses. It is a little noisy, but not nearly as bad as a regular vaccum. With a little practice placing the electronic barriers one can even clean area rugs that have some fringe work, although when our rugs are eventually replaced we will get the smooth edged kind. One important note - pay attention to electric cords as the Roomba really doesn't like them at all.

I thought my floors were pretty clean. "He" found all sorts of dirt and cat hair I had missed. Great fun!! Definately a keeper!! Just need to quit spending time watching it do all the work!

I love that it works so well that all I am left with is emptying the bin and easy maintenance. These two tasks I had to do before, but are now much easier.

This is a product that I use Weekly for the past 2 years - and can not praise it enough - takes a licking and keeps on ticking - I have now bought a second one for the cottage - and have bought the another for my Parents and the Scooba for my parents - I-ROBOT ALL THE WAY - [...]the Replacement parts are resonably price - THANKS I-ROBOT.
I purchased this iRobot and fell in love with it! I sat and watched it work the first time because I was so amazed. We call it our "GoBot"! House cleaning is so much easier. Although it seems a bit noisy when running and our dog is afraid of it. He is afraid of his own shadow too, so take that for what it is worth! I love this product!!
We have three large dogs and let me tell you, our ROOMBA keeps our house clean and picks up hair our current vacuum leaves behind! If you have pets, kids, no time or just want to own a great product....BUY A ROOMBA!

I have had 4 Roombas. I wouldn't live without one. My Roomba is indispensible for vacuuming under beds and low furniture. Fantastic invention. I bought my son and daughter in law a Scooba for Christmas and they love it too. They say it does a fantastic job.
Amazing! I turn it on & let it run, when I come back the Roomba is in its charger & I have great lines in my carpet, that's how I know the job is done. I run my Roomba everyday, becuase of my kids.

I bought myself my first IRobot for Christmas of 2005. I have several health problems which make it very hard for me to deal with a conventional vacuum cleaner, so hoped the Robot would help me out. I have arthritis and allergies which make dealing with conventional vacuums very uncomfortable. I worried that this new product would be no more than an expensive toy, which would not give me the cleaning power of a conventional vacuum, and would not deal with the massive amounts of cat hair I have from my two cats. I hated the pain of vacuuming and the allergy problems from dealing with emptying the conventional vacuum. I also hated it that every time I opened the closet door, my pets ran for hiding places. They hated and feared the conventional vacuuum too. After 16 months of owning the IRobot Discovery, I could not be more pleased with my purchase. Not only is not a toy, but I have found it to be an indespensible partner. My home is cleaner than it ever was before. My attitude toward cleaning has changed from something dreaded to something enjoyable. My robot has helped me so much with containing the dirt and cat hair, eased the pain of cleaning, gotten into places I never could go, and made my kitties very happy campers. I recently upgraded to the pet brushes, which only enhanced the robot's ability, and found it exceptionally easy to do. The new brushes are even easier to maintain than the originals because of the easy clean features.My cats are much happier too. In fact, when I first turned Roomba on, they thought it might be a new cat toy. Rather than running and hiding, they were checking it out and stalking it! I was so pleased with Roomba, that I gave myself a Scooba for Christmas in 2006. I also love this robot, and find it to be VERY well made and totally efficient. It outcleans my Floormate while I watch TV. I have also found the customer support line to be exceptional, as I had to call with a question and was cheerfully and efficiently helped. I cannot say enough good things about these products and definately recomend them to anyone who needs a little help. They are kittie recommended too!

I have four of these robots in my home. The first I bought was a discovery which lasted nearly two years, it was used almost every day. We were very upset when it started to have problems. [...]. It picks up pet hair and general dust which is what I really wanted it for primarily as I work a lot, and it just helps to keep the general pet debris down. It certainly does do that. You have to keep an eye on it, it can get stuck but most of the times because it is intelligent, can rectify itself. My cats hate it though, it frightens them dreadfully even after two years, they run from it. But on the whole, it is reliable, good cleaning, great for people who work a lot and who cannot get to do general cleaning because of disability. My mother recently broke her arm, and I am looking to buy her one to help her out. I bought one for my stepmother a year ago, she loves it.
I was wondering how it would do with pet hair. I have a small cat, medium dog and Xlarge dog so I don't have dust bunnies they are Jack-a-lopes! And the Roomba scoops them all up!! Its fantastic. You should have one too. Roomba moves easily between carpet and the tile... does not like the electric and telephone cords under the bed tho. Got to pick those up before I turn Roomba loose. I'm saving up for a Scuba now!
When my husband took me to the store to pick out a Mother's Day gift, I was a bit annoyed that he had already 'picked one out' and it was a vacuum cleaner! I do have the best husband in the world as this gift has saved me time and effort. With four dogs in the house and a vacuum that didn't fit under the bed,I would have bet we had six dogs with all the hair "Boo" picked up the first time. He is my new BFF!!!
Had I known how great the Roomba truly is I would have bought one a long time ago. We have hardwood, tile and sisal carpeted floors and this little miracle consistantly cleans all of them with ease. It also pivots itself up onto my area rugs from the hardwood. I have a toddler who "eats on the go" so crumbs used to be a major issue. I could vaccuum several times a day and then some. Now I can turn "Mr. Belvedere" on and come home to clean floors. As a stay at home Mom I use to feel like all my time was spent cleaning house. Now I feel as if I can concentrate on more important things...like spending more time with my child. My daughter was a little intimidated by its noise at first...however after assuring her that he was only cleaning and was not chasing her, she is quite entertained by our little robot. I will be recommending this awesome time saver to all my friends.
Two large dogs who shed all year round have gotten me down with constant sweeping and fussing about the floors. So yesterday I got the Roomba Discovery.
In his first run I had to clean him out 3 times on floors that looked pretty clean to me - he ran ALL over the house and cleaned everywhere. then after a second charge he ran again and again came back FULL of dirt. So he will have to run everyday from now on.
One unforseen added bonus is that now I will keep the floors naturally clutter free just so that Roomba can Roam undisturbed.
This unstoppable little Robot is my new hero. I'm already budgeting to add Scooba to our household.

Regarding the Dirt Dog & Discovery vacuum.
I have the discovery at home and two dirt dogs at our catering store. They all have docking stations and are running on a programmed schedule. All I can say is the fist time I saw it work I was very impressed. We have three pets at home, and our floors are hardwood and tile threw out the house. The pet hair is no longer a problem and we clean the bin every day. We run the two dirt dogs every night and empty out the bins once a week. They really are tough little dogs; our floors have never been cleaner. It cleans under all our appliances. Truly amazing products. It?s been six months now and they are running strong. I would recommend these products to anyone. We also have the Scuba but that?s an other story. Great job Irobot!

it gets caught on throw rugs, so you can not leave unsupervised.
It also gets caught under furniture so you have to rescue it.

Bought Discovery when it first came out, added scheduler package. Does main floor three times a week, brushes and debris bin cleaned after every run. Does very nice job but gets tangled in long carpet fringe and fluffy bathroom rugs. First one lasted < 12 months, was replaced under warranty. Replacement now getting flaky (stalls during job). Will try to get serviced but may just replace it if too expensive. Very clever unit but wish durability were closer to conventional vacuums.

This is the only vacuum that I could have given my wife for Christmas and live to tell about it! I bought it as sort of a novelty with fairly low expectations. Boy was I suprised! I'm constantly suprised when I empty the dust bin at what it is capable of picking up. We have had "Scooter" for about a year and a half. It is so cool to have him clean places that you can't even see and would have to move furnature to access!
It is hard though to multi-task with him at first. He is utterly amazing to watch. Kudos to the folks at iRobot.
Now if only he could mow the lawn...
So far it works great. My parents didn't expect what it would do (I didn't either). I spend a lot of time watching it, and our house is so clean I want it to run every second!
I suffered a serious neck injury two years ago and have lingering problems due to the injury. With two cats and two kids, the floors were always a mess. I was about to start shelling out for a maid twice a month because vacuuming was too much for me. I bought the Roomba Discovery, and am amazed at how well it works. My upright can't go under furniture, but Disco (shaped like a disc, get it?) can! This is saving me a ton of money in the long run. Can't wait to get a Scooba!
Got one for Christmas and run it at least every day. I have eight large dogs and hair everywhere. Roomba has made life easy again. The website was helpful when it was going in circles and now it is running perfectly again.
This is the best present my husband ever bought me. I just love my Roomba! I find myself watching it work every day. It is like another member of my family. My cat Jack even gets close to it. I can't wait to get the Scooba.
I was absolutely surprised at how well it deep cleans. I am still scrutinizing its ability and battery limitations...so far A+ and I mean an A+. The battery lasted longer than 45 min and was still going when I put it away. Also it picked up hair my upright vacuum left behind. Those who must vacuum daily, BUY IT.
I had read up on Roomba and was talking to my sister in Canada about them. Next thing you knew, she had bought one. Then her daughter-in-law bought one, then her daughter also. They all love theirs. This neurotic little creature has eliminated the dust bunnies in the bedrooms on my wood floors. I used to have to vacuum and mop every day, now I "Roomba" daily and mop once a week. Next time you update him, give him a voice, let him scream HELP if he gets stuck or just mutter to himself as he cleans, it would be very entertaining and would give him a personality.

I love the new addition to my family. His name is Earl. I was very impressed that he climbed on my rugs with no problem. No more sweeping up cereal and cat food in the kitchen every day. Worth every penny.
Best product I have brought ever. This is what technology is for: making a Mums life easier. The kids love it. My youngest has to put the bot to 'bed' when it is resting! We hid it under a blanket. Otherwise he would have it going around all day!

I have 4 cats, carpet and I hate to vacuum. The Roomba is great at keeping up with all of the cat hair. It is not loud and does not scare them into hiding all day. Unfortunately one of the cats learned to turn on the Roomba.

I have 3 indoor dogs (Border Collies). This model has been WONDERFUL at keeping the dog hair under control. This had made my life much easier. It is the best!!!

My Bot rocks! It did the vacuuming while I did the laundry and it didn't scare my cats like the old upright did.
Very impressed with how well it cleans. We used it after cleaning with our upright vacuum and it picked up a lot that the upright missed.
Had ours for about 1 year. Even with pets, the rooms look tidy from floor to carpet. We wouldn't trade it!

We bought this almost a year ago. A couple months later, we got two kittens along with an automated litterbox (LR). Every day, there is a bit of litter scattered on the floor not to mention a nice film of cat hair. Every day, I run our Roomba and the difference is just amazing. Our hardwood floors are perfectly clean (we walk around barefoot). Even after working every day since we've gotten it, it works perfectly.~~~~~~We've recommended the product to friends and every one of them are thrilled with it. Even without cats, I wouldn't want to live without it. The Scooba will be our first purchase once we move into a larger place.

Awesome, 11 out of 10 stars! My sister was skeptical at first when I said I was going to buy it. But after it cleaned her floors without trouble, she went out and bought one as well! This really makes life easier, and I haven't touched an upright vacuum since I bought my Roomba Discovery!~~~
This is a must-own product. We have a toddler at home and vacuuming [the floor] once a week was not sufficient, and I did not have time to vacuum during the week. After I bought iRobot [Roomba], I vacuum my home at least thrice a week and its a pleasure to see our home so clean! Never liked a vacuum so much before!
