I bought two Roomba 562 Pet Series robots, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. I hate lugging the vacuum cleaner around the house, and we have too much furniture and "things" on the floors, so vacuuming is a REAL chore. My Roomba's are a blessing.

I live in an old house where electrical outlets are a rarity and we have to use extension cords and power strips everywhere. I don't have optimal spaces for the docking stations, but so far it's working pretty well. Roomba 1 has a little trouble getting out of and into its space sometimes because it's tucked into a corner.

I have not yet programmed a schedule, because it's simple to decide when Roomba should work and punch its button, so that particular feature is not so important to me.

I'm also not overly concerned about Roomba's inability to vacuum in the small spaces because it's just so nice to have the main floor clean with not too much effort. You do need to clean the brushes, bearings and especially the spindles fairly frequently, but I feel it's a small price to pay. Besides, it's easier than cleaning a regular vacuum's brush and dealing with belts. No screwdriver needed!

I just allowed Roomba 2 out of my room today to clean the linoleum, and although it does have a sensitive bumper, it DID bump the animals' water dish enough to spill it. Luckily I was right there to wipe it up so as not to harm Roomba. They're not supposed to be subjected to liquids.

I love these things so much that I hope they last a long time. I worry about overworking them! I think iRobot should work next on some Baby Roomba's that can get into the small spaces.

Be warned that when your Roomba's are new, they will not be a time-saver because you spend your time just watching them work! It couldn't just be me, could it?

P.S. I was just about to submit this review when Roomba 2's right wheel became stuck. There is nothing in the manual that tells how to fix this, so a call into service is in the immediate future. I've been using the robot for about two weeks every other day or so.

My husband brought this home for our 37th wedding anniversary (after hearing me remark that I needed one). My son has a white pet bunny and we have dark cherry floors (Pergo)... The iRobot is scheduled to clean each morning at 6 AM. It starts on it's own, cleans under furniture and around each chair, table leg, etc. It cleans along baseboards, does a whole floor of my home on one charge and then docks itself to recharge! It is wonderful to return home from dropping my son at school to see my iRobot cleaning away!! I would buy this again in a NY minute! I do pick up the floor area each night before going to bed to make a clear path for cleaning. (throw pillows, magazine racks, etc.) It does a great job and really gets the floor super clean.

I recently purchased the Roomba 562 pet series. The only con is that sometimes it can get stuck behind a chair but thats so trivial. I have a large living room with a fairly high pile carpet. I also have three long haired cats. This machine is absolutly fantastic. I lost my wife a little over a year ago so I have to take care of my house by myself. I hate vacuuming so when I saw a friend that had a different model I called Roomba to see what they would reccomend. They were absolutly right. The 562 picked up every pet hair and even dirt deep inside the carpet. For the price you can't do any better. I very highly reccomend the 562 of you have pets...

Good day! Before i had my 562 pet series, i tryed a 530 (canadien tire). After my first try i return it to canadien tire. i was so impress on those pruducs i ordered my 562. i have an australien shepard, i need to cleen my house every 2 day. i have no time for that. i was so impress on my new 562 pet series for his job. Try it is bye it! i love that produc that much, i just bye a floor cleener 380. i am reely impatiant to try this one too. If the resault is like my 562 that will be the best teem i ever had. JUST TRY IT YOU WILL SEE BY YOURSELF!!!!!!!

I was amazed how well Roger cleaned. Even so, I've noticed he only manages to make it back to the dock maybe 50% of the time. With a lot of pet hair, you must take care to thoroughly clean the Roomba each time - though this takes just a few minutes. Overall, Roger is a happy addition to my home. I've never been so excited by vacuuming before!
