You can not have the pool pump on when you use the bot the jets will turn it over on its back and it can not get back on its owen. IT will not clean steps or swim outs.It works great on the rest of the pool.

got my robot a few weeks ago, and just opened my pool last week. I have a mesh cover that permits particles and leaves to go thru to the pool on windy days. (Next year I may water bag the cover to prevent the leaves getting in) The pool was a big mess. My robot has done a very good job cleaning it up, and has saved me from constantly backwashing the filter to clear it up. The bag has needed to be cleaned frequently, but the process is fairly easy. I appreciate the fact that the robot was fully assembled at delivery, and cleaning the bag and reassembling is fairly easy,as I do the maintainence of the pool and am getting older, and my hands aren't as nimble as they used to be. Much easier than vacuuming and backwashing, and I might add less expensive as you don't run your filter and use earth to clear the pool. Your instructions for using the equipment were easily followed. I hope that I continue to have good luck with the system. I have a Polaris 360 and at this time I don't think I'll be setting it up this year. It also does a good job, but it needs some parts that are going to be quite expensive,and as long as this system continues to perform well, I won't bother with replacing those parts. My one negative comment is that your replacement bags are way too expensive, as I like to have a spare set to get the equipment back in operation quickly, and at your prices, that won't be feasible.

I have not purchased the iRobot Hydrojet pool cleaner. I DO have the exact same product made under the original manufacturers name. iRobot bought the rights to the other brand and sell it under their name too. It is a great pool cleaner... far superior to my old pool cleaner that has been around for years. It is easy to use, and does a very good job. However, the previous reviewer comments that it does get stuck from time to time. This is true. Mine will get stuck on ledges or steps at least once each time I use it. It will capsize when it climbs the wall of the pool and then comes to the surface (but only if my water lever is a bit low). These are issues with the pre-existing design, and iRobot has done nothing to improve them. Shame on them. Their Roomba is fantastic and is one of my favorite tools around the house. The iRobot Hydrojet is very good, but could be better. It is one of the best pool cleaners out there, but iRobot could most certainly improve on its design and efficiency. Replacement costs for the pump motor and debris bag are rather inflated too. My pump motor went out after two years of use. The simple cloth bag that collects the debris really does cature silt and larger items, and is better than most other systems out there.. but this cloth bag should cost about a third of what they charge for them. All in all, this product is better than most of the others, but it is not perfect. I do hope that iRobot improves on it in the near future. If they do, then they will positively OWN the pool cleaner market.

I bought this for my pool which is being built. Tried it at a friend's house. Does a decent job of covering the entire pool. Climbs the walls well. Got stuck three times on a ledge, with two wheels on either side of the ledge. Just goes back and forth, was never able to get off the ledge. Product support hasn't responded to my email asking if there is any solution to my problem.
