Comments about iRobot iRobot Verro™ 100 Above Ground Pool Cleaning Robot:

I specifically waited 2 months to write this review. When the pool cleaning robot arrived, I used it every day, for four days in a row. The fourth day it was in the pool, cleaning, one of the back wheels fell off its axel. The plastic retention clip was stripped. I remembered that there were two extra clips in the box, so I replaced it. The very next day, as the robot was in the pool cleaning, one of the front wheels fell off its axel. That retention clip was stripped too. At this rate, I would have been ordering replacement parts all summer long. I started to question my decision to purchase this product. [...] At this point, I was unhappy with the product, [...] It's been two months now, and I'm happy to report that it has been running flawlessly! Last year, I spent almost all of my free time just trying to keep-up with keeping my pool clean. Now, I don't have to. As the iRobot cleans, I spend the time doing other things. I was skeptical at first, as to how well it would clean, but it picks up leaves, helicopters (that fall from the trees, not the sky) and dirt that I can't even tell is there - from the entire pool bottom. It has never felt cleaner. When the iRobot is done, I leave it sit for 20 minutes and take it out. The filter bag is easy to remove, and as dirty as it's been, I've been able to wash it clean with the garden hose every time.

I like the design of the Verro 100. Great thinking behind the entire development of this product, except one. The Power unit comes with a warning that says not to be used above 104 degrees ambient air temp. Well I live in Las Vegas and the entire swimming season is over that temp. Am I supposed to run it in the winter only??? Lots of southwest cities will not be able to use this product. I tried running it at around 102 degrees in the evening and it kept shutting it self down. Returning it to iRobot.

Comments about iRobot iRobot Verro™ 100 Above Ground Pool Cleaning Robot:

I used the Verro 100 when opening up my above ground pool. While it did help remove the green slime and dirt at the bottom of the pool, I had to remote the robot and clean it frequently. when the filter bag gets clogged, it will stop moving and you have to rinse it clean with a hose. I probably had to repeat this process 10 times, but it did remove a ton of dirt. This allowed me to open the pool in about 1.5 days, which is the fastest for me. My goal was to not use the pool vacuum at all this year (clumsy vacuum that attaches to pool filter). I have not used the pool vaccuum once yet.

Inserting the filter bag back into the robot is a little tricky, but after a few tries you get the hang of it.

Overall, the robot does a good job of removing loose dirt and anything floating in the pool. Even when my pool appears sparkling clean, it still manages to pull out some debris. I only wised it would remove the dirt that gets stuck on the bottom of the pool so I wouldn't have to break out the pool brush. I'm not sure if one of the other Verro's would be better for this, but none said they are for use in an above ground pool so I stuck with the 100.

If iRobot offered an above ground pool cleaner that also scrubbed the bottom I would like to try it. The less pool maintenance the better!

Comments about iRobot iRobot Verro™ 100 Above Ground Pool Cleaning Robot:

Just got it yesterday, plugged it in and put in the pool. It's very light. At first I thought it didn't work because it didn't make any noise, then I see it going back an forth across the pool picking up leaves and dirt. It's great it picks up everythingand my pool has all kind of leaves and berries in it from a banyan tree. My pool was really dirty since my old polaris pool cleaner died and the Irobot cleaned it in 4 hours. My house has photovoltaic solar panels on the roof [@], so I'm very concious of the power consumption, the old polaris required the main and booster pump to be on, using 2910watts/hour, the new Irobot uses 176watts/hour, I can run the irobot for 16 hours and use the same as 1 hour on my old system. It has a safety switch which turns it off after two hours, which is great in case I forget to turn it off. Cleaning it was easy also, just pull two tabs, pull the bag off and hose it down. I woke this morning and the pool was so clean I didn't recognize it. I should be able to do it once or twice a week for an hour or two and keep it clean.Sincerely,Jess Boca Raton FL USA 4/2008
