We have 2 dogs & this helps stay ahead of the tracked in dirt & HAIR. It's great to turn it on & wake up to really clean shiny floors. The clorox solution is great but when it was depleted we started using the vinegar & water alternative. Floors look great & house smells good.

I honestly didn't expect it to work so well. After using mine one time, I ordered 3 more. One for my 83 yr. old mother & one for my daughter who is a new mom, one for my sister & another for me since I have a large home & want it all done now. If I would give up my diamond ring before I'd give up my Scubby. He has a mind of his own & goes where he shouldn't sometimes. The check tank light comes on a bit to often on one of mine & the other on occasion goes in circles in one spot but I just play with the wheels & it's ok. It will not clean corners but it takes me a minute with a paper towel to wipe them, no biggie. Overall, this is the greatest invention next to electricity & a MUST for every household!!!

I received Mr. Scooba as a present from my mother to help me keep my house clean when I got sick and couldn't keep up with the fur produced by 2 cats and 2 dogs.

At first Scooba was absolutely heaven-sent! We loved watching him bump around our house and found it easy to move furniture out of his way. We usually sweep before we run Scooba to give him a head start.

We have a very open living/dining room that is not separated by a threshold, so he usually needs either the virtual wall to clean them both thoroughly without getting lost in the other room or the battery will run out.

Also at first it's not that hard to clean everything every time his water and filters need to be changed, but it really is more time consuming than we initially thought.

I would implore iRobot to include a cleaning kit with their Scoobas which could consist of little more than glorified pipe cleaners to make sure all the gunk is out of the vacuum and filter ports. Also human hairs (long hair, not short cat hair) get wrapped all around the brushes and it gets wet and difficult to remove during cleaning (which I personally find really gross, although I guess it is my hair). So it's a bit of a task getting scooba prepped between runs.

Recently, his battery has died and I'm not sure if iRobot will replace it for me or not. If they don't it will be awhile before we can run Scooba again because we don't have the $70+ it costs to buy a new one.

Overall a FABULOUS product, very entertaining. It is a bit loud, but if you run it when you're not home it's not an issue. The virtual wall is great (although Scooba makes a very cute noise when he gets stuck) - but there could definitely be some improvements.

Highly recommended for tile and hardwood floors, in small spaces where you can move things he can get stuck under.

I like the Scooba, but it isn't as smart as my Roomba. I have to stick around the house in case it gets stuck under the furniture.I also have to block the living room, because the virtual wall doesn't keep it from going on the carpet. I wish it did clean the corners a little better like my roomba. This is priced a little more than it is worth. If you can get it on sale or "marked down", then I would recommend this to friends, but with a caveat.

I purchased this after I fell in love with the Roomba vacuum. I only use the scooba in my kitchen and with two children (4 and 18 months), my kitchen floor always has food on it and spots of fruit juice, soda and milk.

Being a career and family driven person, the last thing I want to do when I get home or on the weekends is spending all my time cleaning up after everyone.

I wait until the kids are in bed, start my Scooba in the kitchen and my Roomba in my living room, and then go relax myself. My scooba and Roomba allow me to spend time with my children and husbnad while they are awake and still have some time to myself after they have gone to bed.

I absolutely love my Scooba and Roomba!

My white tile floors looked brand new and sparkled. The tile grout is starting to turn back to its original color. The cleaning solution smells really clean and fresh. However, iRobot should consider designing a bigger tank because this one has to be emptied at least twice during the cleaning cycle. Scooba Steve is worth a lot more for me not having to lunge over to sweep and mop.

Great product. Saves us a lot of time. Worked 5 star in our old house (renter) which had tile floors. The current house has very uneven slate tiles. It tends to get stuck quite often due to the uneven level between slate tiles. However in fairness this says more about the tradesman who laid the slate tiles than it does about the Scooba. If you have uneven slate tiles be prepared to give it an occasional nudge.

I own both the roomba 560 and the smaller Scooba I love my roomba and the scooba seems to be doing an ok job on my tile floors (have not owned long) the only complaint i have thus far is that the Virtual Walls are incompatible to each other, I feel they should all be compatible amongst all of their products.

I ordered this as a manufacturer refurb, because I wasn't sure I'd like it enough to buy a full-priced unit. WOW!!! I am delighted beyond my wildest dreams! I charged her up and ran her the first day she was here, and she has been going strong ever since.

My husband complains a bit that she's loud, but I guess he just doesn't remember how much noise I made when I had to do all of that work! What he does NOT discount, is that our floors are cleaner now than they've ever been, and it's so easy to get them that way, my 8-year-old can do it (only after adequate demonstration and instruction, of course!).

The only thing I don't absolutely love is that she tends to get hung up on our ceramic tile kitchen floor, but the area where she hangs is pretty uneven, so I can't really complain all that much.

WE LOVE our Scooba!!!

With a dog door, and foster dogs coming and going, this is a great timesaver for me. It helps me cope with a less than a Better Homes and Garden home, which I had before I began to rescue homeless dogs. They feel like they belong, and I don't have to wipe each paw everytime they come in and out the door into their special room in the house. They become acclimated to a loving home, muddy feet and all, and the Scooba takes the back breaking work of mopping three times a day away from me. I only wish the unit would last longer than less than a year, since it is such an expensive little appliance which I desperately need. The same holds true for the other Roomba products. They simply don't last long enough. I buy new brushes, batteries, and everything else to keep them working, but still have to replace the entire units once a year. This is too often in my opinion.

I love my i-robot scooba. It does a better job washing the floor then I can and it does all the work. The first time I used it I was surprized at how clean my floor was. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat and I use it once or twice a week. I do sweep my floor before using it and it still picks up anything left behind. I can't wait to get the i-robot vacum.

In only two years I have had to replace the batteries twice and return the machine for a new one after having it for only a couple of months. When it works, it's great!! Not always reliable though.

This is the greatest thing. I set it up and leave for work and come home to a mopped room. No more wasting my weekends mopping. I have all hardwood floors and a tile bathroom. It cleans every room in my house. It charges well and is refilled easily. I never thought it would clean well enough for a neat freak like me but I was wrong. This thing RULES!!!!

I have Multiple Sclerosis, so mopping floors are a very difficult task. I am also obsessive compulsive, so before I got "Scotty" I would mop my floors 4 times, then rinse. I would end up in bed for 2 days. "Scotty" was one of the best purchases I ever made. I have a kitchen/dining room combo, which are quite large. It does a great job. The battery goes dead just prior to drying the last three square feet of the dining room. I can deal with an absolutely spotless floor, and wait for a small area to dry on it's own, rather than doing it myself. As for the reviews that have a problem with it getting in to corners, how do they expect a round machine to get into a "square" corner? Sure saves me a lot of health problems to have my floors washed once a week for me. I also own a Roomba, which I love.

This is a fabulous system when it is working properly. I had to return in first year due to battery charge issues, and did receive and new and upgraded battery, which is malfunctioning in less than 6 months. Needs to be replaced on my coin, as out of warranty. Customer service reps very helpful. While I get very frustrated when it is not holding a charge (which means the room doesn't clean completely), when it is working my hardwood floors shine like new and are gorgeous, with no elbow grease on my part. I agree with many other customers that there does seem to be a long way to go on the battery issue, as I certainly have not experienced what is advertised as 'each battery will provide hundreds of cleaning cycles' --- I don't think I've received more than 50, which makes each cleaning rather expensive, now that I do the math. But I do love the technology, so I suppose I am supporting financially the company while it works out the kinks of new technology.

My husband and I bought this on a whim and I am so glad we did! We absolutely love the Scooba iRobot! We love that we can leave to run errands while leaving the scooba running and come home to a clean and dry floor! It has cut my household cleaning time in half. We wish it came with more solution, but we are grateful there are cheap solution alternatives that we already had around the house! I use the scooba weekly...who wouldn't clean their house every other day when you don't have to do hardly anything!!

This product worked well enough for the first two years. Scooba did a good job cleaning when everything was operating as desired, in fact it did an excellent job at cleaning. Although I have to say I have had quite a few bouts of frustration with the device over the years. From having to use a turkey baster on the solution valve to manufacturing issues with the battery, which required an osmo software upgrade.[...]Yikes! I didn't expect to have dish out cash for a new unit so soon.Overall Scooba does a great job cleaning floors [...] However I would expect that a product in this price bracket would last longer than two years.

It eliminates dusting if used constantly and leaves ceramic tile clean and shiny.
However, it requires steady supervision - she becomes stuck, or runs out of cleaning solution, or battery the minute you leave. That my be the fault of our home, however it is certainly no time saver. She is irritably loud.
I do vacuum before using her so she can do a good job.

I have 2 roomba's and had the scooba, which was working exceptionally good until turned on a sevice light and failed to work. Had a maintenance contract and they returned me the item price because were not having them anymore. I needed to get 2 roomba's because I also had the maintenance contract for the 360, but had to wait 3 months until could get it changed and bought the red model to help me with cleaning. My only complaint is that did need frequent repairs and 1 year warranty seems not enough. My house floors are cleaned one or twice each week and I use them in alternating rooms on alternated days for around 30 mins to 1 hour, 3 days a week. Although is not a cheap article, it does the work better than I initially thought. Now I have returned to mop the floors and I miss the scooba.

Primarily use in the "dog" room on hardwood floors, lots of pet hair and dirt (even after vacuuming), and mud from living on acreage with horses. With a bad back, I needed help mopping and this guy does the trick! Easy to use, well-marked parts. Battery started going bad but the new batteries seem much better, and the new battery lasts 2 cleaning cycles. [...]

I've had my scooba for over a year now and am very happy with it. It does a great job of scrubbing the floor and removing most dirt/marks. When I empty the dark brown water from scooba's tank, I'm consistently amazed at the amount of dirt it removes from my floors. I will not say it is perfect - it cannot get into corners and does leave the floor damp enough that extra drying time after use is approx 15-30 minutes (depending on the climate conditions and smoothness of floor). It WILL save you a lot of time though and eliminate the mop & bucket! Highly recommended.

Cant keep it running. At first it did well
for about 6 months. Then frequent shut downs of water, then pickup of water. You replaced unit (thank you) then battery power diminished to 8 minutes maximum. Total battery usage has not exceed 22 hours from the first usage to the last time in 13 months. Help!

I was wearing out sponge mop heads and expending lots of energy cleaning my textured tile before I got my Scooba. LIfe is so much easier with Scoob.

When my battery started loosing a charge I called cusomer support and got a new battery and a software update, all covered under warranty. I haven't had any problems in the past year. I don't know if this will help the peple who are having battery issues, but call customer service.

I have 3 small boys (one is crawling so my floors need to be extra clean) and I use my Scooba at least once per week. The cons are so minimal compared to dragging out a mop and a bucket that I hate to even list any. Scooba cleans my floors much better than I would be able to do with a traditional mop or any of the disposable mop-like products that you can buy at the grocery store. I read a lot of reviews.. seems to me the bad reviews always mentioned something that upon further research reveals that those people didn't read the manual.

The thing is easy to use. Easy to clean. The only drawback is that it's loud... so what.. turn up the stereo.

When I first bought the product, I thought this would be a great time saver, but after using it for about a year we have decided it is a hassle to use. The battery will no longer recharge, so I searched for a replacement, and the batteries are very expensive to replace. It also tends to go into a room that has short pile carpeting (berber) and gets stuck often.

well, this is sooo great. I love it! At first, it took some time adjusting. it runs rather loud and takes some time to complete, but if you want to save yourself some time & energy, it is not a big deal. With ceramic tile floors throughout the house, saves lots of time cleaning and I don't have to excert myself trying to keep the floors clean. I have several cats so we do have an occassional accident. So It's Scooba Steve to the rescue.

I have 2 other IRobot products, 560 Roomba, and the Dirt Dog. I'm totally thrilled with their performace. No more floor cleaning for me!!!

The Bot was fine for about eight months. (I used it on my hardwood and tile floors once or twice a week.) Then it stopped working. (There was a grinding sound, it would stop dead, and start beeping.) I have had my scooba for two years now and I can honestly say that it cleans my floors better than I ever could. Every few weeks I go around with a moist cloth and clean the corners (it takes about five minutes), and my floors are perfect. I will never mop my floors again!

My husband and I are both disabled and washing the floors was quite a challenge before we bought "Scotty". We have a small kitchen w/ attached large dining room. Scotty gets the entire area clean, however, like others have said, the floor is damp when "he" is done. There is one area in our kitchen where "he" always get stuck. Another problem we have is that when we first start "him" up, we get the "check tank" light. We try priming, and following all of the other directions, but it still happens, after about 10 minutes of messing around with it, "he will start doing his job. I also have the roomba. Love the idea that I can be vacuuming the familiy room, washing the kitchen and dining room floors, and I can be taking a shower, or whatever else that needs to be done. With my MS, Scooba has made a DREADED job into an enjoyable one. My floors get cleaner more often now, thanks to Scotty.

After the first use of the Scooba, I wasn't so sure about it. It only ran 30 minutes before "Check Tank". I poured out the "sludge", rinsed it, and tried to run it more, but no luck. After the second use, I was SOLD! It ran for 45 minutes, and the floor, although slightly damp, was clean. I ran around the edges with a "disposable mop", and the floor was done. The next times, I did the edges while the Scooba was running. I'd like to see them change the wheels -- something not quite as slick, for better traction.

I LOVE my Roomba -- it cleans the carpet AND entertains the cat!

My Dirt Dog (or "Dawg" as we say down here) is still learning, but my patio, screen porch and garage have never looked better!

Now, I need them to make a carpet steamer robot, and one for washing windows, too!

The few times I've gotten my Scooba to work, I really didn't have any complaints. However, I have had two different ones and have had two different batteries and the batteries will not hold a charge for more than a few minutes. I think I've gotten the things to run a full cycle a total of three times. Very frustrating. Mine is the first model, so perhaps they have improved.

My little Will Smith Scubba is the best. I too was wondering if everything they said would be true. So far it's great. I have had none of the problems I have been reading about. However I have only used Willy three times, and it has already been worth every penny! I'm here to order more cleaning fluid and let you know that I am delighted so far!

i have two children under the age of five, so im always sweeping and mopping 3 or more times a day, me and my husband are also in the military so our time is short with what lil. time we do have, we spend with family, i just let tinkerbell go at night and by morning my kids have a clean floor to play on.

The Scooba does an excellent job on my bathroom and laundry room linoleum floors. The rest of my house is laminate flooring. After I bought the Scooba I found out that you can't use it on laminate flooring. Big disappointment! Most of my house is laminate flooring and this was rather expensive to use on three very small rooms!

We have a small kitchen (about 45sq-ft) and my wife cleans it on her hands and knees. Should be pretty clean? When the Scooba arrived I charged it up and set it about its business.

It was fun to watch as it whirred and bumped its way around our small kitchen. Since it is designed for a much larger room it ran and ran until it finally ran out of cleaning solution. It is quite a bit of over-kill for our small kitchen.

As I watched I could see that it was doing a pretty good job but when I took it to the sink to empty out the dirty water I nearly dropped it when I saw how BLACK the water was.

I got down on my hands and knees and began to inspect the floor. That was when I discovered that the dark spots in the tile that highlighted the design weren't original, but actually embedded grime, surely there from before we moved in.

On the second cleaning the dirty water was markedly less dark and after the third cleaning I'd let 'em do brain surgery on me on the kitchen floor... I'm hooked.

The only drawback I found is that it doesn't get the floor as dry as I'd like but putting it into the dry (self cleaning) cycle a second time did the trick.

We will soon be moving to a much larger place that has lots of tile and I can't wait to see how it does on larger areas where it won't be going over and over.

I charged the battery overnight, but only worked for about 20-25 minutes. On the other hand, the tank doesn't empty out that fast, and it clean effectively.

I have only had my Scooba for about 14 days. I agree it does not get everything like corners in kitchen but it does mop better than I could ever think about. I'm not sure why but the tank seems small maybe it's my imagination. I put solution in and fill the clean tank up. I'm ready and then I turn it on and it always says check tank. I just filled it. Then I put about 1Ml of water in it and it's fine. I have a big kitchen about 500 SQ and it does all of that. I also use it in bath room. Make one smaller so it gets behind toilite. I have a roomba. I'm a sucker for Irobots it's my favorite store. I can say it is a fine product.

Just fill it up, turn it on and let it go. I don't care how long it takes to clean a room, It's time I don't have to spend doimg it myself. The only thing I would suggest is making the scooba an inch or two shorter so it can get under the kitchen and bathroom cabinets.

Received Scooby Doo as a gift with scepticism. But after trying it, I became delighted with the finished results. My kitchen floor has never been so clean. I am so pleased with the quality of the product that I have just ordered the vacuum robot 560, and the pool cleaner Verro 300. I hope that I will be as pleased with them.

Scooba is fairly useful but its intelligence is not what purported to be. It cleans some places repeatedly while missing many spots. Similarly it washes some sections along the walls numerous times while other places are left untouched. This leads me to believe its pattern of movement needs much improvement. If Scooba actually did have a real system of detecting the dirty areas as iRobot claims, it would become one really cool tool. However, I have watched three entire cycle of the Scooba in three differently shaped rooms and have ascertained that its actions are not driven by artificial intelligence but a programmed pattern of movement.
I have white tile floors and can see easily what is missed after each application.

In our new home I have hardwood floors throughout the first floor, but the area in the kitchen needs cleaning most often - even with just two of us. Everything shows! This machine has been an absolute lifesaver. It was a bit hard to figure out at first, but now after just a few days I am converted. The best is that my husband thot I was nuts to buy it and is now convinced otherwise. Talk about painless wood floor cleaning.... my troubles are over! Proud Roomba Owner who has been considering a Scooba for years. This year, after an incredible experience with the Roomba 530, we decided it was time to get ourselves a Scooba for Christmas. Have to admit, after looking at the amount of maintenace the manual described I was a bit concerned. Yet, in practice, the Scooba is actually easy to maintain. I was a bit disappointed that Scooba doesn't handle the un-eaven floor in my kitchen like Roomba does, and it gets stuck easy. But my floors have never been cleaner and I'm starting to figure out where Scooby has problems. Roomba and Scooba make a great team! Now, I'm still hoping for a Dustbot...

I own a roomba discovery and a scooba. While I have had nothing but issues with the two,[...] My roomba discovery has been replaced three times now and once I had to reload programming that came via a little device that I attached to the unit. My scooba has been replaced once…. as of yet. When the units’ work they work well but I am a little disappointed in the number of times I have had to have them replaced. My thoughts on recommending these to others is that it is a nice item to have but I would not rely on it as my only means of cleaning my floors as mine all seem to work for short periods then have to be sent back and replaced. [...] but as I said at this point I would not recommend them as a main means of floor cleaning. On a scale of 1to 10, 10 being the highest I would give my experience with Roomba a 7.

My house is 3000 sq ft with Italian tile in the kitchen, hallways, and bathrooms, and wulnut hand-distressed wood flooring everywhere else. The Robot is ideal for my house because there are no carpets. The robot can move freely around the house and clean while I'm not home. The Virtual Wall is great because it stops the robot from falling down the stairs! The only area I have to clean is the staircase! The robot is too loud, so its ideal for use when I am not home. Cleaning the robot and the brushes is a chore, but better that than cleaning the whole house. The solution is a tad expensive, but I might be able to find good deals. The 30-day return policy provides a peace of mind.

This is the cleaning future!I have owned a Roomba Discovery (gray/white) for more than two years. I absolutely love it. It always performs well. An occasional Replenish Kit and cleaning... No problems.I recently purchased the Scooba 5800 and was excited to do so. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. It does clean the areas it passes over. However, it does not pass over the entire designated area. In this case less than 250 sft., one Virtual Wall and very few obstacles. The same room Roomba has cleaned thoroughly many times. This Scooba robot arbitrarily stops and spins in a circle. Much like Roomba’s optional Spot Clean. Scooba loses traction when it does this and waste solution. It will do this no matter where it is when other untouched surfaces need cleaning. I do not like that. I found myself screaming at this robot, “You have already cleaned that spot!”. With Roomba, I can predict where it is going to clean. Scooba’s Wall Following and Room Crossing are sufficient. Also, put a little more in the box: Storage Mat? Replenish Kit? More solution? I have not yet had the battery problems I read about with Scooba and it is at least 30% quieter than a standard vacuum cleaner. Okay. So Scooba is no Roomba. I wish I could take my Roomba’s navigational intelligence and put it in my Scooba. Maybe I’ll put Scooba in Neutral and tie it to the rear of my Roomba. Well, I guess the magnet will stay for now.

Even though ours died rather quickly. Irobot sent us a another scooba to fix the problem. It appears to be a refurbished model but it works good. I would say tech supports is very helpfull and work very well through the problem. Good email follow up as well.

Let me make one thing clear...the Scooba is truly an amazing innovation that WORKS! After making dinner, for example, the Scooba is off washing the floor and eliminating the hassle for us. Scooba does a great job cleaning, but can use some work around the edges. Battery life sucks. Maybe if I used it more, but I'm about ready to buy my 3rd battery in 3 years. And that's with light to moderate use. Hopefully others get better life from the battery

It worked really well for the first of many months, then started having issues with things needing to be cleaned out, but still better than having to do the floors by hand or on your hands and knees. It was great when I have to wash floors a lot due to daycare kids and my own 3 kids.

I purchased the Roomba when it first came out, for the money it was OK. We have two Siberian Huskies so hair in the house is a issue, esp since we live in S Fla. I debated on purchasing the Scooba or the new Dyson. I decided to go the lazy route and got the Scooba. Love it so far, but wish I got the 380. Oh well, the battery life and tank capacity seem to go well beyond the 250 ft so thumbs up.

I seriously wasn't sure I wanted to buy a Scooba. I didn't believe it could do what it said it did - but two friends told me there experiences, so I had to buy one! We live in military housing with some of the worst floors I have ever had to deal with. "Private" cleans my floors perfectly. I have two kids (and several neighborhood kids) running through my house all the time, and a puppy that loves to play in Hawaii's RED DIRT. Everything comes out! My floors used to give me a ragging headache, now I just turn "Private" on before I leave to get the kids from school and come home to clean floors - that dry fast. Some complain about water, but these floors are almost dry before "Private" moves on. I am beyond happy with my scooba and have many friends that have gone out and bought there own after seeing mine work. We all smile now! My neighborhood is full of Scoobas(, and a Roomba).

Scooba 5800 works great! I have used it in my kitchen, bathrooms, and dinning room. Battery life runs longer then I expected and cleans the whole floor. It has a hard time cleaning dried up food on the floor but still a great machine!

I didn't buy this for my wife, I bought it for me! I absolutely hate doing floors and wife is disabled, so, this is one cool device. (appears that everyone knows to name them Scooba Steve though :).

This guy (along with Ole Yellar, Dirt Dog) does a great job keeping the kitchen, computer room, bedroom and bathroom very clean.

We have three cats, a dog, and two grandchildren. They make huge messes every day. I run these guys ragged every day or so. I can do the computer room and kitchen at night when everyone is asleep and they don't make enough noise to wake anyone up.

Along with the pool robot (sorry iRobot, you didn't have one yet) these little guys make my life much easier.

It cleans good. Does a great job there. I am surprised no had an issue with noise. It's noisy like a vacuum cleaner. So don't expect to leave it on and go after dirt all day long (ALERT sensor). I would still advise to buy , but the new model with improved battery life. It cleans hardwood floors really well. Leaves a layer of water at times, but the solution quickly evaporates.

We've had a Roomba Discovery for 2 years and loved it. My husband bought Scooba Steve for my birthday, and he didn't feel it was worth the money...until he saw the results! It works amazingly well on tile floor and does a beautiful job of cleaning hardwood, leaving it shiny and streak-free. I've used the "Scooba Juice"(my son's term) on the hardwood and the vinegar solution on the tiles. I couldn't be ANY happier with it's performance. I too, would like to see an iRobot that shampoos carpets to add to our robot family. I have recommended both the Roomba and the Scooba to anyone who will listen to me. Thank you for making housework easier and somewhat entertaining!

I love what this company produces. I've owned multiple Roomba's. Never complained when they died after 1.5 years. Went right out and purchased a new one. Why? I hate vacuuming.

Scooba comes along. I have a ceramic kitchen floor. Black. Two dogs. Scooba is my dream solution for stunning kitchen design that requires lots of cleaning to keep it looking good. Problems: Scooba 5800 and its predecessor have no traction when it comes to the grout lines in the tile. An ideal upgrade to this product would be to elevate the front end of the Scooba for better clearance, put on bigger tires that can traverse a 1/4 inch grout line and extend the squeegee to ensure constant contact across the uneven surface. So when I run my Scooba I have to stand in the kitchen and nudge it with my foot every time it gets stuck - this is about every 4 minutes or less. So I eliminate getting my hands dirty mopping but I don't really save any time because I have to baby sit the robot!

On a positive. The Scooba works great on wood floors. I like the addition of the vinegar option. I like how it cleans my black kitchen floor.

Please make an upgrade that can handle an uneven surface better.

Bought this 2 years ago and still going, what amazed me is the time saved because it REALLY picks up the cat hair and I don't have to vacuum first like I used to, then vacuum again because mopping caused the cat hair to clump but not pick up. I dropped it a few times and Hula, my scooba still keeps going... Also called customer support and they helped me fix a problem (cat hair stuck in the wheels) So this is a great product, I recommend it to all my friends and I cannot wait for a special so I can purchase the big scooba!!!

when "the critter" arrived my husband laughed at me for wasting money on something that had to be too good to be true. He jumped at the opportunity to point out that it missed a spot on it's first pass, but by the time it finished it's first cleaning cycle on our heavily soiled tile - he couldn't stop telling me how great it was. our floors stay cleaner now than they have ever been and i have more time to tackle other household chores that i've neglected for far too long!

This product is amazing in that I am even writing a review on it. I purchased my Scooba on Sunday, July 29th and used it last night. My husband and I were AMAZED at how this little machine covered the entire room! When the Scooba was complete, we noticed an extreme difference in our hardwood floor. The floor felt cleaner! Also, we loved the pleasant scent from the cleaning solution.

I had my doubts when I ordered this, but based on my happiness with Roomba, I decided to give it a try.

Getting the Scooba to lay down cleaning solution the first time was a challenge. Reading the troubleshooting guide suggested that it had to be "primed". After spending quite a bit of time trying to do this, I finally got it going and was simply amazed at how well it did. My kitchen and dining room are tile, and with two Golden Retrievers tracking in dirt and sometimes mud, I used to have to scrub the floors pretty often. Now, I let Scooba do it and it does a much better job than I ever did.

I still have the priming hassle, but I've learned how to do it a lot quicker using a turkey baster. The 2 or 3 minutes spent on this are more than offset by the fact that I don't have to scrub the floors. The only drawback is that it cannot clean about an inch from the baseboards. I can live with doing that myself.

Bottom line: I give it 4 stars. I'd make that a 5 if I didn't have to spend time priming it. If you hate mopping floors, I'd recommend this robot to you.

Even though I just had it for a day, so far this puppy truly works as advertised! It leaves my floor dry when it's done, and it cleans it without me having to pre-clean the floor. Time to use it on the bathroom and I can't wait! Very easy to set up and operate. The "check tank" light went on because the dirty water was full or something, and this was halfway through the 45 minutes average time it's supposed to take to finish cleaning, but other than that it works great! I no longer have to break my back.

It was great to start with.
After a few months, the battery stopped holding a charge. iRobot did replace the battery under warranty, and provided "new" instructions that the battery should not be charged with the tank/cover closed, to prevent overheating. Oh, and that the battery will not actually hold a charge, so charge it just prior to using it. Oh, and if you have a separate charger for it, that's better, but don't leave it on the charger, as that is bad for the battery.
Well, okay, but then the Scooba decided that every single time it needs to do the 18-hour deep cycle charge, so now I have to plan a day in advance if I want to mop my kitchen.
Until the battery/charging issues are resolved, I would NOT recommend the Scooba to anyone.

I do have TWO Roombas, and love them dearly.

I had mentioned to my husband that a friend had bought a Scooba floor cleaning robot and loved it. On Mothers Day, he surprised me with my very own Scooba. Now, I love him, too--Scooba and my husband. Scooba does an incredible job cleaning up after our two cats and 20-something kids. My kitchen, bath and hallway tiles have never looked as clean as they do now. The floors may be a little wet afterwards, but they're always wet after I mop, so there's no difference. If you're thinking of buying one, just do it! He's worth every penny. I was so impressed by this little guy that my husband ended up buying me a Roomba three weeks later for Fathers Day. I think a Dirt Dog may be in my future . . .

I didn't realize just how much dirt gets missed with an ordinary mop until I got my Scooba. A friend thought I was crazy until I took it to her house. She had just mopped her kitchen when we set Scooba loose. She was amazed at just how dirty the water was after Scooba re-mopped her kitchen.
I have several animals and a teenager and it just makes my life so much easier. Especially with the dirt and mud that tracks in with the dogs.

I LOVE THIS ITEM!!! I ran SCOOBA a couple times within the first day I received it, which was on Tuesday; May 29th 2007. On Wednesday; May 30th I set it in the morning and returned home at lunch found the Master Bathroom was clean. Now here is where it gets good--I stayed home on Thursday May 31st and I was truly impressed. I set it in the morning and let it run in just half of my kitchen/dining area and watching it in action was truly AMAZING. I have an entirely new appreciation for SCOOBA after seeing it in its entirety; keep in mind all three timesI used it I did NOT sweep the area first, just cleared things of the floor and out of the way. I did not jump into this purchase, I saw the SCOOBA last November 2006 and did tons of research on this item before finally giving in and purchasing it. I sure hope you are working on a Carpet Shampooer/Steamer...I would buy it in a heart beat. This was my first iRobot purchase and now I am ordering your Roomba. I am addicted to your products. Anyone considering purchasing this item, but have been holding off...I suggest you go for it. You have a 30-day trial period.....what DO you have to lose? Thank You iRobot.........

If they could just make an attachment so that I could make it clean my windows!!!!!! We have a Dalmatian, a cat and a 21 month old son with another boy on the way! The one thing that I cannot seem to get done is cleaning the floors. The only time I have is early in the morning and during nap time. During Naps, I am usually preparing our family dinner, so if the floors get clean, we are eating hot dogs!
With a second child on the way, I was terrified of the crawling baby on the hardwood. It seems to get so dirty so fast... I have only had Rosie for a couple of weeks;I have run her about every 3 days.
Last week we had company for dinner. One of our guests bobbled their sweet tea and it went all over the floor. It was hard enough with a toddler to clean up after dinner, before Rosie, I would have had to mop the floor and gotten to bed well after midnight. I assured my guest not to worry about the tea, that the maid would get it. After we cleaned up from dinner, I set Rosie to work! Clean floors in 45 minutes!!!! I got to spend some extra time with my guests instead of mopping!
I am consistently amazed at how dirty the water is, even running her every 3 days or so... With a regular mop, I would clean the floors and my son would drop some milk from his cereal or a piece of fruit the same day. When I wiped it with a paper towel, the paper towel would be black, as though I had made no head way at all. Now I get a perfectly white paper towel with whatever we spilled... Life is good and as it should be!
Thank you iRobot... Roomba discovery is next on the list! I am also considering a Scooba for my mom who's entire first floor is hardwood... she has bad asthma and pushing around the dust is no good for her!

I love my scoobo. I have white tile throughout my house. I clean it almost everyday b/c it gets dirty. [...]. There are only a couple of things that I don't like about my scooba is one, it leaves the floor wet so I have to use a towel to wipe up the excess water. The other thing is it loses it charge quickly & it takes a long time to recharge. But other than those 2 things, i really love my scooba & definitely would reccomend it to anybody.

I loved my Scooba at first, but I've had to replace the battery twice within the first year, and now it's out of warranty and needing a new battery again. There was also a problem with leaving too much water, but a new set of brushes fixed that. If it would just hold a charge, it would be great, but as it is, I don't feel I've gotten my money's worth.

We have cats and dogs. We have no carpeting. We have tile floors only and we just got Scooba. I set her up to wash the living room floor. Timmy Cat looked at me like I was out of my mind. He followed it around. The other cats sat on the couch watching the scene. The dogs were unimpressed. I then went to my home office to work. I came back to a beautifully clean floor and all the animals lulled to sleep by the drone of the machine. We plan on running it intermittently from room to room throughout the week. The floors look great; it's a good little machine so far. We'll see.

Loved Scooba when I first got in in September 06. However, by March 07 it was not charging enough to even go through a cycle in a small kitchen and I had water everywhere to dry up maunally. I even let the battery totally discharge to see if it would hold a charge better but that did not work either, so I just had to buy a [$]replacement battery.

Scooba-Doo cleans the floor every evening after dinner without complaining! I set the little guy to clean and I go watch TV or help the kids with homework. The Scooba picks up very fine particles and the Clorox cleaner leaves the room smelling clean and fresh. What's not to love? Only down side is that you need to pick up the throw carpets or other floor coverings, but it sure beats mopping! I recommend using warm/hot water since it helps to clean spots best! The Scooba even picks up the water our dog spills out of her bowl. Get one for yourself, you'll be glad you did. Can't wait until they make a ironing robot!

I would have loved to have given the Scooba a perfect score, but unfortunately, I can't. On Flat Surfaces It Works Great, but on Deep (and even on our shallow) Patterned Tile, Not So Much. The Brushes just aren't quite long enough, and the suction just not quite great enough to get down into the tile crevices and then suction the water back out. As well, the tires are a bit small and the tread a bit slick for it to handle the Large Grout Space in between our 16 inch Spanish Style tile. Therefore, it would get stuck and require constant supervision.

Please Note that it Did a Wonderful Job on our Sealed Hard Wood and Flat Tile floors and needed little, if any, supervision and Worked Exactly As Advertised.

We are very much looking forward to later models that will be better suited for the Spanish style tile with its uneven surface and wider grout lines. At which time, I will be First In Line For One!

I bought it against the advice of the store personnel and had trouble with it immediately, but the iRobot folks helped and once I learned how to deal with the idiosyncracies of the Scooba, I love it. "Consumer Reports" was correct in its evaluation, but for me it is worth it to have the floor cleaned more frequently and better than I would without it. It gets stuck under some cabinets (iRobot folks say to put a swim "noodle" down to keep it out from under the cabinets), doesn't hold a charge well (iRobot folks say that it should be disconnected if not being used frequently, but it doesn't hold the charge well enough to do that), takes too long to recharge, and sometimes stops, saying "check tank" for no apparent reason. The virtual wall also doesn't work well, but I just put things in the way for it to hit to stop it from going where I don't want it to go. I run a Roomba first to get most of the loose dirt up, then the Scooba. After that, the floor is WONDERFUL to walk on barefoot!

I have to say that it did better than I thought possible. I went to move the couch to clean under and was shocked to see that it cleaned there too. I have dogs that shed and now my floors are as clean as ever. I bought a Scooba that came with another Roomba and am so happy I am sending the Roomba to my dad - he will love it too. The Scooba does what it says. I bought one for my mother. It makes quick work of her kitchen floor even though her three young grandkids and the teenagers spill sticky drinks and drag in debris from outside. My teenage son doesn't mind setting the Scooba up for its mission and delights in pouring out all the nasty water after it has cleaned. It is a robot and that makes using it "COOL".

I was skeptical of this the first time it came out. I saw that the only practical difference between the two Scoobas. I only want 1 room mopped, so I went with the Scooba 5800! I really love it! But don�t throw your mops away completely. Once in a while, the Scooba 5800 will leave dirty water in some corners, but a couple paper towels will wipe that up! I love this product and I recommend it!
