I'll start off by saying I am a pet owner with two large Siberian Husky/German Shepherd mixes. At near 100 lbs each they shed more in a day then most do in a month. I purchased the AeroVac bin with mild expectations do to how much hair my house has. This is one of the best upgrades yet. It actually pulls hair from the brushes. The thing you need to realize is the original vacuum bin does not provide suction to the brushes, only to a floor squeegee for dust removal. The hair is only removed from the brushes by "Hooks" on the upper dust bin. The AeroVac bin actually puts suction on the brushes to remove hair. On more than one occasion I had to stop my Roomba and empty the bin due to all the extra hair and dust it picks up. I used my upright on an area of carpet in my house and then sent the Roomba in after it. The dust bin was full within a few minutes. I can not recommend the AeroVac bin enough. You need to buy this upgrade

This along with the new 700 series brush motor turned our roomba from junk into the cleaning machine we had envisioned. No more hair and dust ribbons on the rug edge, no more stopping to clean off the brushes. Our roomba 500 series is now unstoppable!

This dust bin has given our roomba 550 series a new lease on life. We had gotten tired of the constant brush cleaning and debris ribbons left on the edge of rugs. With this upgrade and a new 700 series brush head our roomba works better than ever!! We have 3 dogs and the roomba had always struggled with their hair, now the brushes stay clean and the floor is as cleaner than ever before. Get this and the 700 series brush head and you will have yourself the roomba you always hoped for!

The AeroVac bin works amazingly well....I have three dogs and it's a challenge to keep up with the hair most days. With the new bin installed all of the hair goes into the bin just like it should....instead of getting stuck on the brushes or dragging along behind until it falls off in clumps. I hardly have to clean the brushes off anymore it pulls the hair and debris into the bin so well. This bin should come standard on all models. If you don't have the upgraded bin yet....buy it now, the results will bring your Roomba to another level of cleaning.

I had an original Roomba for 2 years and I've had the 535 for almost 4 years. I have 2 dogs (1 German Shepherd - aka: Giant Shedding Dog) and use the Roomba between upright vac cleanings just to keep the dog-hair-bunnies under control. I had the unit repaired once (programming problem - all it would do was back up) and it came back with the bigger pet brushes, which served to just collect more hair on them. The reviews on the Aerovac were great, so I ordered one. After the first cleaning, all I could say was "Whoa!" This is the first actual, functional improvement I've seen. I've run it 3 times and there is almost no dog hair on the brushes - it's all stuffed in the bin - where it's supposed to be! I just read the reviews on the cleaning head, so I'll be cleaning that out to see what's inside. Maybe the new Aerovac bin will keep the head cleaner?? iRobot really needs to add this as a standard item for ALL the units. This is a MUST order for any pet owners. Even my husband (Mr. Oblivious) commented that the dark rug looks like it was actually vacuumed for once. I can see myself leaving the upright in the closet from now on!

Just got it and couldn't believe how much it improved Rosies performance. I've got a 532 pet model which I love and this really made a difference. Price could be a little lower but given the cost of filters / side brushes, guess it's not too far out of line.

This make an incredible difference, With the old style bin I would run the roomba in my living room till it needed a recharge and empty out half a bin of dog hair and debris.
With the Aerovac bin, I run it in the same room until the battery is drained and the bin is PACKED full of dog hair and debris. I actually have to dig it out with my fingers. Excellant upgrade!!!!!

I have had a Roomba in my house ever since the Discovery model came out. They are great, especially if you have pets, but to me they have always been just a floor sweeper. Sure it as a vacuum filter that clogs every time I use it and have to clean it out, and it did a great job of getting up pet hair from all the nooks and crannies in the house but it was a stop gap and more of system to prolong the need to use the upright. My 530 is getting on and I was thinking about replacing it, but it still "kinda works" and I wasn't really ready to drop money on the new one. I figured I'd spend a few bucks to see if I can extend the life a little bit longer…. And I am glad that I did.
My old bin would pick up hair and essentially stop cleaning after 20 min or so because the teeth on the bin were clogged with pet hair and it wouldn't really pick up anything else. And the air filter always picked up dirt and dust, but it too only lasted about the same amount of time. I would clean it out and send the Roomba back on its way to continue cleaning, wasn't ideal, but it did get up the pet hair.
To check on the new bin, I decided to do a full cleaning with the old bin, then swap it out and see what the new one picked up…… and I was disgusted. I filled the entire bin, twice, and still had a little bit left before the battery ran out on a single charge. Not only did it get all the pet hair that the old bin missed…. The carpet actually looks as good as if I actually used the upright. I am so glad I bought this and am looking to keep my Roomba for a much longer time now.

WOW! This upgrade makes all the difference in the world. I highly recommend it if you have animals and do not want to keep cleaning the brush assemble on a daily basis. This vacuum works great now with the added vacuum bin.
