The AreoVac works great and I can tell from both the floor being cleaning and I have to unload the bin more often than the original bin. The AreoVac appears to improve the alignment of the airflow to allow it to perform better and the bin isn't divided into two bins like the original.

We've got a Roomba 560 that we've replaced nearly every part on over the years, but never considered upgrading the dust bin. We've got two cats and a Siberian Husky (so an insane amount of shedding at least two times per year, on top of the regular) so the pet hair clogs everything, even on relatively clean looking floors.

After a lot of research, it seemed this would be a helpful upgrade as it's mostly the difference between the pet specific models. The suction fan is placed more inline with the path of debris so you get more suction, the bin is no longer divided into two compartments, and there are no longer teeth to guide debris into the bin. The latter (the teeth/guides) on the standard bin used to get pet hair caught on it, limiting debris from making it into the bin.

I'm definitely seeing improvements after upgrading to the Aerovac bin: it's easier to empty because it's no longer two compartments, more hair is in the bin and a little less gets stuck in the brushes compartment. If you have pets, it does do a better job with hair. That said, I won't review the cleaning head module here.

Just recieved the new bin yesterday, now granted I had just run my little 560 cat terrorizer just a day before. AMAZED at how much more it picked up. Either my cats shed a truck load inbetween or this thing does exactly what it's made to do, which is pick up more stuff. Also a much quieter motor in the fan.

Like many reviews, I had Pet Series and didn't use it because it would just clog and leave dust bunnies everywhere. We only have two cats and were pretty disappointed with our Roomba.

With the Aerovac however - ALL IS WELL. Cleans great, no dust bunnies! We actually use our Roomba now.

I was amazed at how much more this bin picked up and I had to keep emptying it before the battery ran down. Excellent improvement to my 2 yr. old Roomba 530 pet series.

I originally bought the 560 Pet Roomba because I live alone in a 1600 sq ft house and have 3 dogs. I installed a doggie door and I was having to sweep every other day. This got old and I researched roomba. Bought one April of 10 and haven't swept my house since.

Added this bin today and it picked up a full bin load in about 30 minutes. I had been using the factory vacuum bin and it runs every afternoon at 3 pm. My floor was always clean and spotless. I put this bad boy in today and within 30 minutes this bin was full. It picked up stuff that you couldn't even see or feel on the floor.

It would be nice if Roomba offered this as an upgraded discounted option at initial buy. Worth every penny and then some!!

I got a Roomba 780 a couple of days ago and was really impressed with how much dust and dirt it was getting, much better than my 580. I then ran across this updated bin for the 500 series and thought I'd give it a shot. Now my 580 picks up about the same amount of dust and dirt at my 780. This bin made a world of difference! Very happy I purchased it.

Neighbor recommended this bin recently to replace the standard bin that came with the unit. Can't believe how much more efficient it is at cleaning the dog hair off our tile floors. Holding capacity is higher, plus the brushes don't need to be cleaned nearly as often as with the standard bin. It would be nice if this was a standard feature on the unit vs. a replacement.

I have a 550 (Dave) with the aerovac and 560 (Tim) with the regular vac. I find that the aero seems to do a better job on the carpet. The regular vac works great on hard flooring. I am getting one to have both as aerovac's

I have a Cocker/Retriever mix with long hair. Hair has always had to be cut off the sides of the rubber beater bar after just one use. I always use a Hoover Upright first which helps. The 560 cleans deeper into the carpet I think. Irobot Customer service suggested the AeroVac as the solution. It is actually worse now. While the AeroVac picks up twice as much stuff out of the carpet, it actually made more hair wrap around the sides of the beater bar and get into the gears. I have a love/hate relationship with my Irobot, wish it didn't take 5-7 minutes to clean after each use.
The battery life is shortened by the AeroVac, something they don't tell you.
