I live in a 650 sq ft apartment and Roomba does a great job cleaning up after my partner and I and our pet rabbit. We use it often so it can generally do one large room and 2 small ones before it needs to recharge. Sometimes I wish it could go a bit longer but still does a great job on one charge. Yes you do need to pick up any loose articles of clothing, cables and cords and we have one chair with a circular wire frame that needs to be taken out of the room or Roomba will get stuck on it. A short amount of prep work in comparison to a regular vacuum! I can prep a room for Roomba in less time than it would take to set up a central vac. Very good suction too for such a small and quiet machine, this thing can pick up large coins like Loonies no problem.

We are older, and not really amoured with house work. We always thought the house was clean. Now with our pet Roomba the house is super clean. No dust alergies now. When we leave the house, we turn it on, come home later, clean the robot and put it back on the charger. I think I better buy some shares in your company.

I just shake my head when I read some of the reviews! It's called house WORK for a reason! Folks that are thinking about buying a Roomba need to remember one thing: If Roomba is saving you time by doing your sweeping so you can do other things (work, exercise, study, child care, etc.), then you need to keep in mind that Roomba WILL require time in maintenance! Keeping her clean is your responsibility in order for her to run properly. I now have 2 Roombas and love them both! I do however spend time pulling out hair, debris, and other unmentionables from around all the working parts. But I have to tell you that these girls saved my relationship with my boyfriend (and my pets)! We work opposite schedules so dragging out the sweeper when one of us is trying to sleep is not an option. Roomba runs quiet enough not to disturb the sleeping boyfriend! YEA! We also have a Black Lab and 3 cats. One of my cats is so terrified of the sweeper that he throws-up when he hears me open the closet that it is stored in. Then he hides for the next 12 hours until he is sure the thing has gone back into its cave for another week! Ya I know...Yuck! But when I got Roomba, Brother walked right by it and had no adverse reaction at all! The dog lays on the floor napping and Roomba bumps and shifts all the way around him while he sleeps away!
I would say that my first Roomba got the short end of the stick. There is a real learing curve while you try to avoid the deep cleaning of the robot! By not deep cleaning the parts they will start to fail- thus costing you big bucks in replacements. Here are a few things I have learned: Do not over tighten the screws! Put them in to JUST snug... trust me they will hold. The product is plastic, all be it though plastic, you will strip the screws quickly. Also, if at all possible do not use the docking unit! The plug will provide you with more battery life... I don't know why but it is true. Have yourself a easily accesable Roomba "toolkit" consisting of a toothbrush(for brushing dust from your filter- it will last longer), a pair of sharp tweezers (to pull any hair from hard to get too areas- believe me there are lots of places my fat fingers can't get a grip) a small magnatized phillips screw driver (for when you need to do your monthly deep maintenance). We have hard wood floors and an open floor plan of about 860sq. ft. on our 2nd floor. The roomba pet series was able to clean the entire floor on a single charge and did not get caught in any corner or under any furniture. We have 2 dogs and it picked up the pet dander and hair without a hitch. I do recommend cleaning the brush and bin after each use so that the hairs don't tangle in the brushes. We clean about 2-3 times weekly when we go to bed. It found its dock without any trouble. Don't know how well it performs on carpet, but for hardwood floors, it's ideal!!!! Great product!!!

Called office last June, was told out of office till June-that was last year. Be prepared to replace machine on a regular basis. Customers service the WORST!!

I have 4 cats and they leave a lot of cat hair! I can't vacuum my apartment every day. Some years ago I've heard about roomba, and last christmas I've give an 530 model for myself =)

Its HELPS ME A LOT. Every day I turn on my robot and its vacuum all cat hair and fur! I recomend it to pet owners, it's save a lot of time =)

The only issue I think is: I need to clean the brushes and the bin frequently. And before roomba start to vacuum, I need take all wires, or its make roomba stops to work (as little pieces of clothes, like socks).

I have a small home, thought it was quite an extravagance. I just love it. It picks up our dogs hair so well. Would hate to be without it after just a month of use. Love my son and daughter-in-law for giving it to me.

use it almost everyday and does a great job picking up all dog hair, crumbs and makes carpet look cleaner. My only regret is I didn't get one that scheduled, and that it would get closer to corners. I have 2 one upstairs and one downstairs. You still need to use a good vacuum now and then but not all the time. Great for days when you want to be lazy.

I have a bad back and this is the most wonderful help that I could have found for keeping my house clean. I feel that my house is cleaner since Roomba goes under sofa, chairs, dressers and chest. This is the best purchase that I have ever made for myself.

Vacuuming is difficult for me and I have had a number of different vacuum cleaners over the past few years. They are cumbersome and although they seemed to do a good job, I could not believe how much dirt and debris my new Roomba gathered. I have pets, so the fact that it can get cat hair is a real plus for me. I love that I can set it up and go about doing other things and when I return the room or rooms are clean. I have recommended it to everyone I meet. It is truly a wonderful product.
