Like many of you I came on here extremely mad & with a smelly house! Within minutes of running my Scooba my house smelled awful. I thought maybe it was the water since my Scooba had been sitting for some time. I dumped it and started it again with fresh water and cleaner..Same awful smell. I started reading the reviews and realized you are only supposed to use 1 CAPFUL of this cleaner not the old measuring cup full that came with the clorox cleaner. I have my Scooba running now with the proper amount of cleaner and no funky smell :) Bottom line I still liked the Clorox cleaner better! :)

I bought this as part of a bundle with my Scooba 230. It did occasional runs on my sealed hardwood, but most of the heavy-duty cleaning was on the tile floor of my dog's "den". It effectively dissolved various pet stains, but it didn't completely eliminate the need for a deep mop-scrubbing.

Since you only use a capful in about 2 cups of water, the solution will last a while, and does seem to be effective at dissolving dirt. However, I found that it tends to leave a sticky residue on the floor over time that really only removes with manual mopping.

Unlike some reviewers, I didn't find the smell unpleasant, but it didn't do anything for the odors already in the room. Vinegar does a better job getting at poo-stink, even though it has its own strong odor.

After running out, I use vinegar-water mixtures or plain warm water, and I don't miss the enzymatic cleaner.

When I ordered my new Scooba, I did not order the Enzyme Cleaner, as some of the reviews here indicated that it smelled bad. Four sample packets came with my new unit, though, so I tried them. The best thing about the smell is...you don't really notice a smell...no overdone fake clean smell. The only smell I notice (if I stick my nose right next to the liquid in the container and sometimes an occasional whiff while Scooba is scrubbing), is of a hard to define sunny, fresh, clean, approaching watered-down lemon scent. My guess is that this enzyme is like the herb Cilantro...some people really love it and some think it smells like soap. Just something different in our genes. My advice is to try the samples and then order this good stuff once YOU have smelled it.

I have had my Scooba for well over 5 years and I love how it allows me to keep up with my cleaning. However, I hate this Enzyme stuff! I am all for the environment, but I can't stand the after smell. From the reviews I have read it appears that some people get a smell and some do not. I can't smell anything when I sniff the bottle directly, I don't even smell anything while it is cleaning, but it seems that after a little while, while the floors is wet, I get a faint smell of vomit...yuck! I finally got down on my knees and sniffed the floor ... it only smelled where it was wet. So, to get over this I started towel drying the floor and everything is fine. I don't see a difference in the cleaning results. I still think it cleans great, but I also use my Scooba 2 times per week. I think if they are going to change the formula and the directions, then they should make it more apparent to the users who have been using the product for years. I had to peel through the directions on the bottle, they were not apparent and the English directions where on the last page.

I can buy this at another retailer for [$] so why they're selling here at[$] is beyond my comprehension. Even better, I find the Clorox Ready Mop Floor cleaner refills have the same fresh smell and work the same as the original Clorox Scooba formula and a case of 12 24-oz bottles can be purchased for less than $35 and shipped free online which comes out to less than $3 per bottle.

I love the enzyme cleaner. Non-toxic, no chemical smells, cleans well, not expensive when used as directed.

Most of the complaints here are from early model owners that did not follow directions. They filled the solution tank the same way they did with the old Clorox solution and got bad results.

I must admit the first time I used this on my sticky ceramic tile kitchen floor I was underwhelmed. The floor was much cleaner, but still a little sticky. But after the second cleaning two days later I was very happy, and upon the third cleaning the tile and grout were almost like new. I use my Scooba 2x a week now and could not be more pleased.

You have to remember that this is not a highly caustic or acidic cleaner. It is not going to immediately cut through heavy dirt and grime. It is not going to bleach your grout for you. But if used regularly and correctly, your floors will be clean and you will no longer be on your knees.

I have a Scooba 230 and have been using it for several months now and love it. I tried the sample packages of the Scooba Hard Floor Cleaner and it worked great. I am very sensitive to odors - strong odors frequently trigger a migraine - and didn't notice any unpleasant smell in the sample packages. While cleaners with bleach give the clean smell we have grow up to expect, I am glad to have an alternative to those harsh cleaners. I haven't noticed any streaking on any of my floors but that may be because I clean my floors very frequently, at least once a week. I always rinse both the clean water and dirty water bladders after every use and clean the bottom plate. I am very happily enjoying cool, smooth, clean floors under foot.

First let me say that if you follow the instructions; capful to full tank of warm water, there is absolutely no scent. And that's what I DON'T like about it. I wish it had a clean fragrance such as lemon, pine, or orange.It seemed to clean as good as the Clorox blue on my first attempt. With the Clorox blue, I always had a bottle of mix ready to go [...].
