In 2 attempts of use it was mastered. It turns on at over 14 feet. It follows all commands instantly.
It took the second attempt to realize that the turn button must be held down continuously for Roomba to keep moving. Use your thumb for forward arrow and just roll thumb slightly to left or right to make Roomba turn while in motion. I think the people having trouble don't realize the turn button must be held down on the arrow desired to keep Roomba moving! If you select SPOT the Roomba will spiral clean without holding any button but if you press and hold any arrow the Roomba returns to your remote control!

come on people, do you want an android to serve you tea, the roomba is ahead of its time for a vacume and this remote, put it under your chin....it will extend the range. other people are comeplaning about the noise, well its not even close to to a regular vacume. buckup and enjoy it.

The remote has some flaws, but works for us. We use it on our Roomba 530 to kick off a clean from upstairs without having to walk to the Roomba (does require line of sight). Biggest negative is it takes a long time or multiple button presses to activate Roomba. I don't see any value in the other functions of the remote such as steering.

I use the remote for my roomba every day i let it clean. At times roomba stops under the bed, it`s too hard to push roomba out useing a stick, now i dont push roomba anymore i steer roomba out!

unless you have a medical condition which prevents you from being able to bend over to push buttons on/pick up the robot, you should save your money...

I had high hopes for this remote, but it really isn't useful. Its just not practical to have to walk right behind the roomba to stear it with the remote. I'll be returning it... you should save your money.
