We mistakenly ordered this "compact virtual wall" instead of the "auto virtual wall". I'm really not sure why anyone would order this one vs. the auto, except I guess if they have a 600 series (we have a 700 series). The Auto is only for select 500 and 700 series models. So everyone should be careful to get what they want - Roomba really needs to improve their description on this one to include the fact that it turns completely off. The picture shows the power button on the top and that is really is the only appearance difference between the compact and auto versions.
Per the roomba site: "A Compact Virtual Wall (and its power light) will shut off after 135 minutes." (from http://homesupport.irobot.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/486/~/what-are-roomba%E2%AE-virtual-walls%E2%AE%3F )

I just got the 560 and she has been busy...she just goes room to room and cleans. But that's not what I want Betsy to do; I want to confine her to certain areas. The Virtual Walls are supposed to help with this; however, I am unable to get the bottoms off so I can install the batteries. It would help if you would show illustrations or print spefcific instructions for getting the bottoms off. Thanks.

I bought two of these walls because one of my two original lighthouses had never worked (Support didn't help when contacted). One of the new ones works occasionally when it has fresh batteries (doesn't last long) and the other has never worked. I have to block doorways with chairs turned on their sides. I love my iroomba but could you make a wall that works?! I'm tired of throwing away money on doorstops! (They really aren't even good for that as they are so light.)

Works great. It keeps my roomba in the room I want it. It has never gone pass the virtual wall. It also turns off after awhile so it doesn't use all its batteries.

I HAD THIS MODEL CAME WITH MY ROOMBA 510 WORKS GOOD I ALWAYS FORGET TO TURN IT OFF WENT THROUGH TOO MANY BATTS STAYS IN ONE SPOT. JUST ORDERD THE AUTO ONE I DONT HAVE TO REMEMBER TO TURN IT OFF IT WORKS THE SAME AS ANY OTHER.
