I have had the IROBOT for about 5 years now and have sent it in twice. One where they had to replace it with a new unit. This issue with the brushes and screws should be a class action claim, as they are continually making money on an inferior product defect, which is ILLEGAL ROOMBA Mfgs! This product has a defect with it's component that holds the screw in place, and they are not willing to recall them and fix them properly. Instead the consumers take care of the problem for them, until we've had enough. I'm going on my third set and I'm not happy...

This is a poor quality replacement for the original unit which lasted several years. The replacement part lasted two cleanings and fell apart. This part must be redesigned so it doesn't fail! Get it together and provide a proper brush! iRobot should be embarrassed to sell us this garbage!

The screw has a problem with falling out and iRobot will not sell you a screw but will sell you a [$] set of three brushes. I found a screw at a local Hardware that is working fine on my Roomba and it cost 6 cents each. It is a 1/4 inch machine screw and it replaces the original just fine. Save yourself some money and visit your local hardware and pay only 6 cents each for them. So far, I'm quite pleased with it and it hasn't fallen out at all.

the small screw for the side brush comes out easily and is lost. you cannot order a simple screw from iRobot. they make you order brushes with the screw so it cost [$]. this is terrible customer service. if all a customer needs is a custom size screw then they should provide that without forcing you to buy other parts. Clearly this is not a customer oriented company.they won't even give you the dimensions of the screw so you can buy it at a hardware store.Nice piece of equipment but the negative customer support makes it a poor choice for a consumer

Beware of fringed carpets! Contrary to what iRobot says, carpet fringe are mean to Roombas, really mean. One of the 3 sidebrush arms will get tangled up with the fringes and will snap off when you try to untangle the sidebrush. Sometime the entanglement is so bad that amputation of the sidebrush arm is indicated. TO do so, just lift and pull the roomba away hard. A 2-arm sidebrush is useable, but an one-arm one is not. After too many of these gruesome amputations, I now use long leftover wooden planks (for example, unused bookcase shelves) to cover up the carpet fringes. Work like a charm. I would welcome a unbreakable METAL sidebrush that will cut off the offending carpet fringe for a change!

Side brush screw falls out all the time and gets lost. It can't possibly hold well, its too short. I'd like to look in the eyes of mechanical designer that put this ... together and ask him - what were you thinking ? Can't believe I spent [$] for this. Customer support is useless, all they do is offer you to buy a set of 3 brushes with screws for $15, when all I need is a little screw. Scumbags... Almost makes me think that they designed it this way so that you'll keep buying useless parts from them over and over. I hate iRobot. I really do. Under pretense of being big innovators they sell you product that no decent company would release to market. I really hope their military robots are better.

I am very disappointed at the quality of the side brushes. The original set had 6 brushes, if one breaks, you still had some use out of it. They break too easily and am now forced to constantly purchase and replace at these high prices. Bad enough it comes from China, with cheap labor and all but we have to engineer a poor quality product that continues to break. With this high mark-up. Big disappointment.

The screw falls off very frequently, being screwed into plastic. I'ts tiny, so it gets lost. You can't buy just the screw, so you end up paying [$] for 3 tiny screws!

Each one of the 3 brushes fell apart after only using my Roomba 530 for 5 minutes. I tried to glue the bristles back on but that did not work. Also, the little screw kept coming out and the brush fell off and was sucked up by the Roomba. These replacement brushes are 3 pieces of trash and iRobot should be ashamed to sell them to their customers. Definitely very poor quality!
