I use "Laura" (housekeepers name when I lived at home) about every other day. Have an inside dog and cat that shed a lot. Son-in-law has mega allergies and robot keeps house clean enough so that he doesn't have to stay at hotel when he visits. So convenient to use. So easy to maintain. I too use hot water and liquid dish soap to clean filter. Have had "Laura" for a year and still love her. GREAT PRODUCT!

I pop the filter out and wash with hot water, dish scrubber and soap. While it's drying I put in another clean filter. This way I reuse what I have.Seems to be working great!

These filters are not really necessary to replace and toss. I clean my used filters with a soft toothbrush and some gentle dishwashing soap. Rinse well, and let air dry.

I use my Roomba once or twice a week, much more with company here. The bin and filter catch a LOT of dust and debris. I empty and clean it every time it's used, plus I clean the filter with cleaner and run hot water over it. Comes out looking new. I dry it throughly before I put it back into the bin as there should be no moisture in there. I have had my Roomba a year now; I'm still using the first filter, and overall it is a wonderful machine. My only problem is that the filter holder broke where it swings out. That part is plastic and needs to be made more durable. I have no trouble keeping the filter holder in, it just makes it easier when it swings out as it should.

These filters are so great that my son's allergist asked what we were doing new this past year, that caused our son's symptoms to improve so much. It's because of the roomba with hepa filters! We love it, both for the convenience and the thoroughness of cleaning.
