Comments about iRobot AC Adapter:

The original Roomba is great and easily charged with adapter and intermediate box with two prongs to fit into unit. You have many reviews on this page where you sent to customers only the adapter with one prong to fit into intermediate box. Thus we cannot charge unit. Surely you must have an answer. Can we go ahead and install two prongs on the adapter? Will this damge the Roomba unit? You can't just ignore your many past customers and leave them stranded. Plese respond with your best advice.

After reading the charging problems some have stated as having; I pulled out both models I have: First one is 2003 model Roomba, when moving the packers seperated and left unmarked, this charger did not have roomba identifying marks. The second one is 2008 model, the charger does state i robot directly on it.Next I put the battery in the original model and used the 2008 charger, all is well. Both are working fine. This may not solve any issues for 2002 models as I do not know what if any changes were made for the 2003 model. I still enjoy both and would recommend to others. Hope this helps and or that you find a resolve. Great vac, keeps me from moving furniture weekly to vac under. Still enjoying the i robot.

Bought one of the first models, worked great....Lost the charger in a move. This charger is the TWO PRONG type which fits directly into the older model. I-Robot CANNOT replace this part and could not supply an alternative solution. If anyone knows where I can find this part please post a response.

The old power adapter has two prongs rather than one which is being sold for the older Irobot vacuums. It would be nice to get an answer why they are not selling the two prong versions since that is what I need.

The original Rumba had two parts to the charger, the AC/DC Adaptor (which you can order from iRobot parts) and another box that the charger plugged into which has a double plug that goes into the Roomba. I don't know what to call this other charger part - I have mine, but it is not available to order from iRobot. I have no choice but to order another AC/DC Adaptor and hope that solves my charging problem. I already tried a new battery [shop elsewhere for 1/3 the price]. If the new adaptor doesn't fix it, the whole thing is trash.

I love my original roomba and have bought a 500 model last year for autocharge that is fantastic. I still want to use my original sometimes though. I seem to have misplaced the charger for the original and ordered the adapter for the charger that does what i don't know. it has one plug my original has two plugs. the same is true for this replacement charger the picture shows one plug while the roomba original has two, the manual shows a charger also with two. How do you charge the roomba using this charger?
