Changing from the old charger to this one was great progress. I agree it could be made for longer life (cables) but having tried a off-label battery with very bad results I will stick to original parts.

I tried the reset steps from reviews and it worked great. My original battery stills charges and holds it after 7 years! 4 of those I had no problems. In storage for the last 3 years I am so happy it works again! Do the reset for 30 seconds and repeat! I will still not get another one when it goes for good. No way!

As all AC/DC power supplies these are made in China. But they are way worse than the cheapest universal models in the market. Mine lasted less than two years. Buy a switchmode variable 12/24VDC power supply instead for the same or less money and use it to power your laptop too.

This charger worked well to start off but ended up destroying the internal IRobot charger in both of my vacuums. Since there is only a few dollars difference I don't see why this is even a part if it causes more defects than it helps. [...] I wasn't told that as with cell phones and other charging items, power chargers, since I guess they are supposed to be used only on occasion and not for daily or regular use, will burn out your product.
