I have two Roombas. I upgraded one and there is a big difference in cleaning effectiveness. As a comparison, I ran one with the older brushes first in the carpeted bedroom. Immediately following that cycle, I ran the Roomba with the new cleaning ahead and was amazed at the results. One would think that the first cycle would have gotten it relatively clean. However, the second run produced 3x more in additional debris and the bin was completely full. I haven't yet been able to determine how this new cleaning head is able to accomplish this. It also seems to be a bit quieter. If the older head has the noise level of a 10 (on a 1 to 10 scale), the new head is at a 8.
One thing of note: My Lighthouses and Virtual Walls do NOT work with this head. I am a bit puzzled and need to determine the reason.

This is a really simple and cost-effective upgrade for the Roomba 500 series (and others). No longer do the gears in the 500 cleaning head get gummed up with debris. After running for an hour, the brushes were mostly clean and the AeroVac bin was completely full. Great upgrade!
