Comments about iRobot Scooba 390 Floor Washing Robot:
This is my first day of using Scooba, and it was a little tricky at first--I had to call customer service, but they quickly helped me and got it going. The representative was friendly and knowledgable.
It did a wonderful job on on my textured tile floors. I had been using a Shark steam cleaner, and I was amazed at how dirty the finished water was!
I'm not sure, yet, about my hardwood floors. I tried it first in the bedroom and was a little worried about the amount of water left in spots. I'll check it closely after it dries completely before I use it on the rest of the hardwood.
It also got stuck under the edge of my dresser, but I will just get some risers for that if I decide to continue using it in the bedroom.
Overall, I am very, very pleased with it. The post-use maintenance is not hard at all once you do it a couple of times.
I'm glad I bought it and would definitely recommend it.

This review is of the previous model - 380 . It should be used every day or at least 2-3 times a week to really obtain the benefit of having one at all. This also prolongs battery life.

Comments about iRobot Scooba 390 Floor Washing Robot:
I love my little Scooba. It's a great idea.
However, I practically need a degree in engineering to fix it every time. The tank handle is not a latch. The latch breaks easily. The internal part that holds the tank in place breaks easily. For the next generation PLEASE use materials that are more durable and if it looks like a handle, make it strong enough to be a handle!

Comments about iRobot Scooba 390 Floor Washing Robot:
I can not imagine my life without Scrubbie! The amount of labor, energy, and time he saves us is priceless. My husband wanted Scrubbie to help him after my surgery. I encouraged him, knowing that afterwards Scrubbie would be "mine-all-mine"! Scrubbie cleans better than any human I've met. We have 4 white Persians and our Roomba (Fluffy) picks up all their fluffy white fur off the floor before we sic Scrubbie in the room. Persians have a habit of throwing up fur balls. Now we know that Scrubbie sanitizes after "an event". (It is an especially good thing now with grandchildren crawling on the floors.) What is great about Scrubbie? Ans: Everything! My only regret is that we did not get a Scooba earlier. It is criminal to think of all the time I wasted cleaning floors before Scrubbie arrived in our home. Yey Scrubbie!

Comments about iRobot Scooba 390 Floor Washing Robot:
This works great in my studio apartment with wood/tile flooring. I'm busy and just starting my career and this is the perfect thing for me. The vacuum part of the robot makes this work better than a Swiffer or standard mop. There is nothing you need to buy for it besides the cleaning solution (and it does not need a lot). The only downside is that it's about as loud as a regular vacuum so I can't run it before work without waking the neighbors.

Comments about iRobot Scooba 390 Floor Washing Robot:
My housekeeper had just mopped the kitchen the day before. I used my Roomba to go back over and remove all of the pet hair etc...(2 dogs). I took this Scooba out of the box, read the quick start steps, filled the tank with water/solution and popped in the battery(I had charged it overnite). WOW!! When I went to empty the dirty water tank, my jaw dropped, literally!! I was blown away at how much dirt and grime was in there. Before I emptied this, I had commented to my wife that the wood looked "shiny and clean." I really don't understand what some people complain about as far as maintenance here, it is really quite simple and for the quality of CLEAN that I get now, it is really worth it. Highly recommend a Scooba to anyone. I own two Roomba's, a Mint and now the Scooba. Happy with them all.

Comments about iRobot Scooba 390 Floor Washing Robot:
I looked at this for years and did not buy it because it seemed a lot of money for something I could do myself with a mop. I finally broke down because we own backyard chickens and our kitchen floor was constantly muddy, I never got around to washing it frequently enough, and I was tired of the mess of mops and buckets in my closet.
I'm so glad I did! I run it every night after dinner, just putting up the kitchen chairs and moving the garbage pail into the hall. It does not catch under my cabinets, even though the roomba does. My kitchen looks SO much better and every day I walk in there I'm happy I bought it.
I also run it in our small entry hallway where the catbox is once a week and it leaves it spotless.
We run it with plain water or water and vinegar in the kitchen and it does a fantastic job. We use the recommended antibacterial cleaner in the mud room. There is an extremely light film of water left on the floor after washing (less than with a mop) that dries within 5 minutes of completion. I bake and cook constantly and we leave lots of mud and it has cleaned it very well. Dried ground in dough needed to be loosened by hand before cleaning - just as you would when mopping.
It has a very easy to use design - simple to fill and empty and simple to dump the bins. The dust bin is tiny - if I didn't run it frequently I would have to sweep (or roomba) before I ran it. My only complaint is that I'd like a tool to clean one of the lines for sucking up water maybe once a month as it can get clogged with cat hair and leave a tad more water on the floor than usual.
If you buy this - or a roomba - you should run it all the time. Running it is painless - that's the point. Running it daily leaves your floors spotless with almost no effort and makes the cost worthwhile. If you only run it once a month, you might as well do it yourself.
I am VERY pleased with the purchase.

Comments about iRobot Scooba 390 Floor Washing Robot:
I have a large townhouse with a very large 1st floor, The entire first floor is very flat with the exception of a 1/4th inch lip from the main room into the kitchen. Half of the first floor is hardwood/linoleom(kitchen) and the other half is carpet(1st floor master&sunroom)
I bought the scooba because of all the possitive reviews, I already have a roomba 790 that works great throughout the entire 1st floor.
The scooba was a huge letdown in both cleaning ability and obsticle navagation, I had to put the virtual wall up where the hardwood meets the carpeted area because the scooba recognized the carpet as dirt and sat there soaking my carpet, this is probably because the carpet is level with the hardwood floor...no problem.
The scooba gets stuck on the 1/4th inch lips leading into and out of my kitchen and needs to be boosted and reset only to get stuck seconds later. The cleaning ability of the scooba is very dissapointing, I've heard of people saying it leaves a little water to be air dried but this thing just dumps the water solution and sucks up nearly nothing. The scooba does not even lift a fresh soda spill off the floor and certainly does not scrub any tough stains or dirt deposites. Keep in mind I always run the roomba first to lift any surface dirt to make it easier on the scooba and the results are still dissapointing.
I will be returning this device and mopping my floors by hand from now on.
