I bought this thinking it will work for all 700 series iRobot for obvious reasons, seeing that they cost more. But to my and the dismay of many others it doesn't! I have to return it.

I recently purchased a model 770. If I had known that it would not support the virtual lighthouse, I would have considered a different model. I agree with a previous reviewer, that if the 500 series is supported, all of the 700 series should be supported as well.

So starting from the sales web site, and picking accessories for my 700 series roomba I bought the lighthouse. Only to find that it's not compatible with all 700 series, including my 760. It will not even work as a standard virtual wall with it.
I would recommend it if I could use it.

I like the way Roomba works when it's doing smaller sections, not just wandering all over the house. It may or may not clean any better, but at least you know what's finished. Lighthouse mode is perfect. I use three of these to divide the downstairs into 4 logical sections. It's the reason I bought the 780 model and I'm glad I did.

The lighthouse works as advertised: It helps keep Roomba in one room/area until done before allowing entry into the next zone. The virtual wall unconditional exclusion works as well.

It's completely ridiculous that iRobot has crippled the 760 and 760 model Roombas to not support Lighthouse mode. The 560 does, so logically every higher model should, too.
