Comments about iRobot Roomba® 770:

Fully charged the robot and put it in our master bedroom. Picked up dust under bed, but I had to empty twice. Did go into one closet and the bath area. Whenever there is a 1/8 in. difference in floor height, it cannot handle it. Got stuck trying to get onto an area rug on a hardwood floor. Battery runs out quickly - not good. Misses a lot of areas.

Comments about iRobot Roomba® 770:

We were very skeptical at first but after a few days we found ourselves wondering how we lived without this machine! We have hard wood floors and tile and she cleans like a champ. We set her to clean when we leave for work, and she does her thing while we are gone, so we do not hear her. She has only got stuck once and we think our cats had something to do with that! Great buy and we have recommended it to all our pet owning friends!!

Comments about iRobot Roomba® 770:

I just got my Roomba 770 a few days ago. The following day, I put it into action, after the battery was fully charged. It was fun to watch it work, but it was a bit noisy. I set it up upstairs, in the loft, where it's all carpet. There are 5 rooms and two restrooms. The Roomba stayed mostly in the loft, and just went for a few minutes to two of the bedrooms. Then, it ran out of battery and I found it near the stairs, sleeping -- It didn't make it to the charging station, which was only 6 feet away from where I found it. It did picked up some dirty, but mostly carpet wool. But, it is a new house, with a new carpet -- only a couple of weeks old. It did cover all of the loft and the stairs landing and hall, but it barely touched any of the bedrooms.

Overall, I wasn't so thrill about it. It seems to be able to clean one room only, after about 40 minutes running.

    Comments about iRobot Roomba® 770:

At first I was skeptical about purchasing the Roomba. I live with a blue heeler, a black lab, and two dachshunds inside. I have carpet, tile and hardwood floors and I was continuously vacuuming and sweeping. I was told that I had to many rugs and furniture in my house to get much good out of the Roomba, but boy were they wrong. I don't know how I lived without it. It's wonderful and my mother was so impressed that she bought herself one also. Besides the pet hair, it's just so nice to know all the dust bunnies are not living under my bed anymore. A GREAT product. Next time I buy one I will upgrade. The 770 is all it's advertised to be, can't even imagine how the more expensive models do.

      Comments about iRobot Roomba® 770:

We run the 770 daily on our hardwood floor area mostly due to pet hair. The 770 does multiple passes on the kitchen, dining room and hallway and puts itself away when it is done. To make it more convenient, I used felt pads to raise a low couch so that there would be no impediments and I know that the Roomba appreciates the extra headroom. We love this thing.

        Comments about iRobot Roomba® 770:

We run our Roomba every other day. As long as we have picked up loose objects, it runs completely independently and parks on its charging station when it's done. It's a lot quieter than a regular vacuum cleaner (about as loud as an average bread machine). It's quiet enough to run when we're home, and if it's in a different room, we can hardly hear it.

It requires emptying the bin and cleaning the brushes every few times that it runs, but the maintenance only takes a few minutes, and I'm happy to that instead of running a regular vacuum cleaner. We've been running it regularly for 8 months, and so far it shows no signs of wearing out.

The remote control is awesome for spot cleaning a specific area, and also allows us to keep it parked underneath our furniture where we can't start it using normal start button.

It doesn't have a lot of suction, but it more than makes up for it with the excellent brushes, and lots of repetition. I would be tempted to try out the 800 series for the stated improvement in suction, but I really can't complain about this one; it does an excellent job.

And I will never again own a regular vacuum cleaner.

          Comments about iRobot Roomba® 770:

As a single guy living in a 5 room apartment, I love many aspects of the Roomba 770. This little robot is "set it and forget it." I schedule my Roomba to vacuum every morning, right after my alarm clock goes off. Once it is done cleaning it returns "home" to its charging base. If I happen to make a mess during the day, I have Roomba make another round whenever I want.

            Comments about iRobot Roomba® 770:

A cleaner would charge more in three months just to hoover my floors than this costs to work for a year. It sucks up more pet hair than I can believe (there's a Great Dane reigning over the place), and the open areas of the house are dust-free. It's programmed to hoover every day at 6 am, and generally runs a little more than an hour. The bin is easy to empty, and after the first week, one empty every two days is sufficient.

The house has Carpeted bedrooms, tiled baths and wood floors elsewhere, and is pretty big and open. No stairs. Roomba seems right at home, giving full coverage during a week. Sometimes it closes a bathroom or bedroom door with its blundering ways, and I find it expired in the middle of a clean expanse of tile or carpet. But it quickly recovers and is off on its rounds again the following morning.

The best part is the general reduction in dust - I only have to dust a quarter of the time as pre-Roomba, and sneezes have become the exception. I still use the main vacuum occasionally to get the spots the Roomba misses, like under smaller chairs and tables, or the dining table where the forest of legs is impenetrable for Roomba. (or drapes & furniture) But that hovering takes just a half hour every fortnight, instead of a couple of hours or more every week.

Okay, it gets stuck occasionally under low furniture, and you have to pick up tasseled rugs (or duct tape the tassels underneath) (and keep cords and blind-strings off the floor!), or spend a few minutes untangling it after you find it lifeless - but it recovers nicely once placed safely on the home base.

My biggest concern is that it blunders about when it encounters a chair or table leg less than a few inches wide, and hits with such force that it loosens the wood glue and actually moves chairs and small tables about the room when it can't exit the box for a while. I would love to have a Roomba with a more sensitive proximity sensor.

Customer service is great, honoring the guarantee with strict and friendly speed.

I'm adding a second machine this year, and will keep both operating until one dies and is replaced. The gadgets to keep them confined to a specific area work great, as long as not too close to the home base. I'll keep the two machines part - no need for a litter of little Roombies fighting over charging time!

In short, Roomba is an essential part of daily living for me, and saves not only time, but money otherwise paid for a cleaner to come once a week for an extra couple of hours.

It's also mesmerizing to watch - much better than most of the drivel on TV.

ALL IN ALL A VERY GOOD PRODUCT. WISH WE HAD GOTTEN ONE SOONER. WE GOT THE 770 MODEL. WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE ROOMBA!
